Liam’s POV

“Mr. Payne you have a call on line two.”

“Alright thanks Samantha.”

I sigh and take the call. The agency has been busy since I had to fire my assistant a few days ago. She was great worker but the fact that she stole money from the record label is unacceptable.

“Hello, Liam Payne speaking.”

“Yes, Mr. Payne this is Margaret. I need a list of names of the people coming in for a job interview so we know who to send up.”

“Of course, I will fax it to you right now.”

I hang up the phone and fax it over. I lean back in my desk chair. It’s been almost a year since I started this record label. They didn’t take me seriously at first, being 22 and right out of a boyband, but I did it. I now run one of the most successful record labels in the country. There are only two downsides to it: it’s in Los Angles, away from my family and I do miss touring with my best friends. But we still talk and occasionally get together and perform.

*ring ring ring*

I reach for my phone.

“Hello, Liam Payne speaking.”

“Hey man its Niall!”

“Oh hey! What’s the craic?”

We both laugh. It’s been a running joke for several years now.

“So I am flying into LA in two weeks, we need to go have a drink together mate!”

“That sounds great. I will make sure I’m available.”

“How is the label doing?”

“It’s doing really well. You know Harry is releasing an album soon. I believe he will be here around the same time as you.”

“That’s incredible. Maybe we can all get together!  But hey I have to go! I’m at Maura’s and she is picking at me. I’ll call you when it gets closer.”

“Alright. Bye Niall.”

“Bye!”

I hang up and check the time, its 5 o’clock, time to go home. I slip on my leather jacket and run out of the office.  As I make my way to my car, I dial Tessa’s number.

“Hello?”

“Hey Tess. I can barely hear you there is a lot of noise.”

“Shhhhh! Sorry Liam. The girls at work are being loud.”

“Well I was just calling to tell you I’m on my way home.”

“No!”

“Um what?”

“Well I mean- I just need something from the store. Do you think you could get some sugar and milk?”

“Sure babe. I love you.”

“Gotta go bye!”

The line goes silent. She must be busy at work; poor thing works herself to death. I place my cell phone in my pocket and drive off to the store.

Max’s POV

“Well here’s the key to the place. I know it isn’t much but it’s better than nothing.”

“Thank you so much.” I say while taking the key.

“I am one apartment building away if you need anything.”
