Luke sat down on the couch, looking obviously exhausted. His eyes were brimming with tears and he was afraid.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. "Luke, its Aira." The soft voice says and took this as his sign to get up.
He slowly opened the door, revealing the girl who was a lot smaller than him. She looked down on her feet, not wanting to stare at his eyes.
Luke motioned Aira to follow him inside the house. Aira sat down across from him, looking at the couch where they first kissed.
She tore away her gaze on the couch, not wanting to reminisce the memories between the two of them.
She noticed Luke came back from the kitchen, in his hands where two hot chocolates. He gently smiled and placed the two mugs on the wooden table.
There was a moment of silence, until Luke decided to speak up. "Here..." He hands the paper to the girl right across him.
She took the document with the unknown data in it. Not like she wanted to see what was in the document, it would hurt her more, she thought.
"Aira, I would like to remind you this is for both of us. " he states.
She nods silently and unconsciously signs the document. She knows it. She knows there's no longer a spark in their relationship
Aira knew that the lingering flame left inside Luke was for somebody else now. The lingering flame left for Aira? She doesn't know yet, more likely it has been put out by Luke. She hesitantly hands the piece of paper back, and thoughts surrounded her. She thought about how she could alter their fate.
The problem is no matter how many different paths they were gonna take, there would only be one insignificant end.
What you ask?
The two of them being apart.
