Nick's POV
We started another days worth of hiking before the sun came up. We went a little slow because of Eliza's injury, but last night during my shift and before the spiders, I found a tree branch and took the bark off with my knife, and then carved her initials into the handle. I gave it to her this morning after a small breakfast of the small cartons of cereal. She just said thanks, and then when she was trying it out, when I wasn't looking, she proceeded to whack me with it.
"ELIZA! What are you doing!!! You're going to kill something!" I yelled.
She just smirked and tried to climb on to my back but since she couldn't use both her feet to climb, she fell......again.
"YOU PERVERT WHY DIDNT YOU HELP ME?" She yelled while laughing uncontrollably.
"Why should I help you if you're trying to murder me," I exclaimed.

She did her puppy dog pout. I have only had her do it once to me and it was awful. I wanted to pick her up and never let her go. I wanted to give her everything she asked for. I wanted to--
No. Nick, you are not going to fall for that again. Uggghhhhh I wanted to kill her, but I wanted to love her more. This is hopeless. I can't escape her.
"Ok Princess," I sighed dreamily as I let her and helped her get on my back. She just giggled and I'm pretty sure Livi gave her a wink, but then Eliza's face went from cheerful, to the 'stop it i hate you' face.
I think..... No that's impossible Nick, Eliza would never like you.
