Ch.31

Adam wouldn't let our hug end. He kept me in his arms for at least 5 minutes.

"I'm sorry Elizabeth. I shouldn't of left you with them."
I sniffled in his shirt.
"I moved the girls to a different table." Adam said
He took my hand
"Follow me." He said softly
I didn't move for a second
"please."
My head said no but my heart said yes.
I nodded then followed.

After we got through the crowd I notice where we were going and stopped cold.
"Trust me."
We were going to talk to Brittany and her friend.

I look back for Alice and she was looking at me. She was watching me but keeping her distance.
I slowly keep going.

We walked up to the two girls table.
Brittany made contact with Adam refusing to look at me. The other girl glance at me then at the floor.

"Hi." Adam said
"Hello?" Brittany said confused
"Brittany, Nina this is Elizabeth. Elizabeth this is Brittany and Nina."

"We've met." Brittany said quietly under her breath
"No, you haven't. This is Elizabeth Parker. My beautiful amazing kind gentle perfect, girlfriend." Adam said

I quickly looked up at him with watery eyes but not from sadness from happiness.
"What?" Brittany asked
"Elizabeth and I are dating." Adam repeated
Brittany looked down

"I understand if your upset with me, but don't be mad at Elizabeth." He said

"You really do love her don't you, Thomas?" Nina asked softy, then looked up at him
Adam(Thomas) looked down at me

"Yes, yes I do." Adam said quietly

Brittany nodded
"Understandable" She said while  looking down and sniffling.
At first I thought it was fake but I saw it wasn't.

Before I could comprehend it all my voice started talking

"Adam will you give us a sec." I ask without noticing that I did

He gave me a "are you sure?" look.
No, I wasn't but I nodded anyway

Adam left

"If your going to talk crap to me I really don't want to.." Brittany started softy without eye contact until I interrupted

"No, I don't want to talk crap."
I paused
"Brittany you are pretty and talented and smart, any guy would love you to be your girlfriend. Sure ad..Thomas isn't your guy, but there will be others." I said to Brittany. Almost saying Adam instead of Thomas.
She slowly looked up

"How can you say that?" She ask

"What?"

"I was a total jerk to you like I meant to make you go away so I could flirt with Thomas. And you tell me I pretty and smart?"

"Yes, because you are. Live life don't get suck on one guy." I said
Her face filled with shock.
Her voice became quiet and soft
"Thanks, and I'm Uh, sorry." Brittany said looking down.

"It all good, I hope you have a good time." I said while leaving and walking towards Adam.

Adam and I won for king and queen at his party.
Around 2 pm everyone finally disappeared and the big mansion was empty besides: Alice, Jason, jack, Nina, Brittany, Adam and me.
"The was great!" Nina said to Adam while helping clean up
"Thanks."
"I would help clean up more but I have to go." Nina said
"It's cool we got it."
"Ok."
Brittany grabbed her coat said goodbye to Adam and gave me a small smile.
"I'll be in the car Nina." Brittany said while walking out the door

Nina said good bye to Adam then walked past me.
She stopped and turned and walked back to me.

"What you said tonight-"

"To Brittany?"

"Ya, it was nice. She's going through a lot with her family right now, she comes off mean but she's not she's really nice-" Nina paused

"And what Brittany and...I said about you, we didn't mean it. We knew you were listening-"
Nina looked down and her voice became softer
" Brittany's jealous-" she stopped and looked down.
"And-  I'm jealous."
Out of nowhere my arms wrapped up around her.
"Don't be. Nina like I said to Brittany, your both, beautiful and smart and there is a prince out there waiting for you.
she hugged me back
Her voice was muffled in my shoulder

"Your a good person Elizabeth, there's not many like you."

"Thank you." I said with a surprised dry throat.
"Well, good night." Nina said while walking out the door in to the winter cold

I started to pick up trash and someone came from behind and hugged me
I scared me half to death.
"Are you ready?" Alice said the second the door closed
"For what?" I asked
"I have a plan to find Ryan." He said
"Meet me in the room with all the papers on the wall that Adam showed you."
Alice ran to the door.
"Wait when?"
"As soon as you get changed. I'll be back soon." Alice said while closing the door.
"But I didn't have a ride home or clothes."  But she was gone.
Adam cleared his voice in back of me.
He led me to his room.
" heard you needed a change of clothes." He said while picking out sweat pants and a t shirt.
"Thanks." I said
He pulled out a change of clothes for his self too.
I didn't care to go and change in the bathroom.
"Will you unzip me?" I asked
Adam nodded
His fingers where cold.
I giggled at his touch.
"Ok now turn around." I said
He turned and I quickly slipped on my sweat pants.
He glance
"Hey!" I laughed
"Sorry he said blushing
I got my shirt on.
"Your turn." I said grinning.
He spun his finger so I would turn around so I did.
He took off his shirt which reveled abbess. And...
"Adam" I said
He hurry and slipped his shirt on.
I walked over to him
"Adam your chest.."
"It's nothing."
"That's not nothing."I said
"Let me see." I said
"Elizabeth it's nothing-"
"Adam you trust me right?" I asked
He nodded and let me life up his shirt.
There was at least 29 scars, cuts and burns.
"Who did this to you?" I asked
"I was kidnapped Elizabeth. It wasn't a walk in the park."
"Im sorry. May I?" I asked
He nodded and let me touch them they were soft.
I could see embarrassment  on his face.
"Adam don't be ashamed."
He didn't say anything for awhile.
"Ryan is still going through this. We have to find him."
"Adam we will find Ryan."
