Jimmy practically told Castiel it was okay to use his body as a vessel. Jimmy told Cas it was okay, jimmy wanted to protect his family. Sure when Cas left Jimmy's body and Jimmy went back to his family, he knew he couldn't gain their trust or love back since he "left" even though he gave Cas permission to use his body.
