"If I told you Vampires are real and dominated over every other living thing…what would you say?"
The days were long and dreary. The mornings were empty and silent. The afternoons were short and had a silhouette. But then there were the nights. The nights were never vacant. They were filled with screams of terror; and the streets, which you can easily be cornered in with shadows in every corner, were tainted with red ink. Blood.
All of these misfortunes were done by the creatures of the night; the ice cold bloodhounds, you can call them. Or the rulers over living things. The creatures that dominated us all. The creatures that make us lock ourselves in our homes and never have the urge or thought to come out, or even unlock the doors and the windows. The creatures that talk to us and treat us like slaves. The creatures that we are obedient to and listen to their every word and accomplish their every order to us. The creatures we call "Master." The creatures that call us "Slaves." The creatures that made us learn the true meaning of fear. The creatures that live and strive on our every drop of blood. Vampires.
They walked quickly. They all walked quickly. The afternoon was just about to come to an end and head into the night in a couple of short minutes. No one would ever want to stay outside in the night – it just wasn't safe or human.
Humans were the ones who would run home before the night starts. They would shut their doors and windows, making sure it were all locked. They would turn off all the lights and hide somewhere in a secluded area which would later turn into their sleeping quarters. Some were lucky if they hid under the blankets on the bed or somewhere else that's soft and comfortable to lay or sleep on. They would hide since they were afraid to be caught by a Vampire. If they were, they would be either bitten for feeding purposes or the girls would be used for sexual purposes, sadly.
No human being called for any of this. It just happened. Wars brewed up, people were killed – Vampires barely, and the Humans lost through the bloodshed of it all. Only very few survivors remained; others died or were captured. That was life today. That was how it was. That is how it will be.
It was officially the night and everyone was in their houses – hiding of course. One hour had past right after nightfall had begun. To Humans they think that it's time to sleep and hours have past. To Vampires they think the night has just begun and it's time to look for some prey.
A scream could be heard from every corner of the streets and blood tarnished the concrete floors. You'd expect that all the Humans would be hiding in their houses. If you did…you'd be unmistakably wrong.
In the midst of this town was a place where male vampires went for entertainment.
Yet, in that place – or bar, if you want to call it – only one girl worked there. No, her pay wasn't much. No, she didn't want to work there; she was captured and forced to. Yes, she hated it more than anything. If she did escape, she would face the consequences: she would be beaten senselessly and mercilessly. And what could she do about it? Absolutely nothing.
She would just take it all. Yes, she thought about escaping. No, she never tried to escape. She was just too scared to. But everyday she wished and hoped to find the courage to overcome her fear and just run. Only if she could actually find it is a different story.
Does she believe in love? Yes. Happy endings? Not so much, at least no entirely. Did she find her lover? No. But she does believe that she'll find him. Someday, that is.
Inside the "bar," lights filled the room. Colors of yellow and black, with a few shades of pink, blue, violet, and green, made the room more vibrant, despite being owned by Vampires. Oh, the irony.
