"Damn," Frederick cursed under his breath. "Get the guards," he directed to servant as he picked up his coat and was about to leave until Winry stopped him.

"G-Guards?" She repeated. "Why bring the guards out?"

He gave her a strange look. "Humans are about to break in," he simply stated. "It only makes sense to."

"…What are you going to do?" She cautiously asked him.

Frederick furrowed his eyebrows at her questions. He cleared his throat, "What needs to be done." Then he left the room, leaving her blank.

Winry flustered at first and then followed him downstairs, determined to put an end to this savage behavior from both races.

Frederick quickly and angrily walked downstairs; his agenda was already full and now he had to deal with this? Complete nonsense.

"W-Wait!" Winry called out to him, hurriedly walking down the stairs. When she finally reached Frederick, she stopped to take in air. Then she continued, "You…You can't just kill them off," she said between breaths.

"And what if they try to kill us off?" He briskly retorted. She knew he had a point; being the Prince of Vampires, you're most likely to be on the killing list of the humans.

"At least try to compromise," she sighed.

"This isn't a movie; things don't go as planned," Frederick stated with a stare. Then he turned on his heels and opened the door.

He quickly stepped to the side as something came flying towards him. It just barely missed him, scrapping his shoulder.

Frederick sent a cold glare to the thrower's direction, which made the thrower flinch in fear. "C-Charge!" a man yelled as they all started to throw their weapons towards him.

Easily done, Fredrick stepped over to the side where he couldn't be hit, seeing how the wall was protecting him. But once he spotted Winry open to be hit, his eyes twitched. He thought that she would be smart enough to step aside but she looked frightened like a deer who was staring into a car's headlights.

Swiftly and nimbly, he raced over to her and grabbed her by the waist, jumping to avoid a knife as he pulled her towards the side.

"Can't you see they're aiming for you?!" Frederick yelled at her. Winry was still frozen due to fear but snapped out of it. "S-Sorry, I thought they'd notice I'm a human…"

"Well, did it go as planned?" He rhetorically asked. She shook her head no in embarrassment. Then she noticed his shoulder. "Y-You're bleeding!"

He looked at her. "It doesn't matter; it'll heal quickly," he stated, taking in mind that he was a Vampire.

"Still," she grabbed a piece of her dress and tore it from the bottom. With that piece, she wrapped it around the wounded area and tightly tied it, making Frederick cringe a bit from the pain.

"Thanks," he murmured. She just smiled at him. Something about Winry made him actually seriously think about a few things in life that he couldn't quite comprehend, even with his high standard intellect.

"Anyways," He cleared his throat, his mind averting his thoughts back to the current situation. "Be careful next time," he muttered. "…Please."

A small blush spread on her face but nonetheless she answered back, "O-Of course." Frederick sighed in something that can be called "relief" and patted her head, "Good." Again, her temperature rose.

"I think a human should convey his or her own feeling to another of the same race…don't you?" Winry suggested to him who took the thought into consideration.
