Winry, again, walked to the bakery for Henry. However, her knees shook, still remembering the event that took place before she left. The way she was yelled at and she herself doesn't know why she took the blame for someone who treated her badly and basically bought her for killing purposes.
She finally reached the bakery, yet again. Bringing forth her hand with the money ordering, "One loaf of bread please," was her request.
The man at the counter gave her what she had asked for and was about to collect his money until he heard a shriek in the air. Both humans froze, breath caught. That very scream penetrated through their airs and sent a message into their brain: Run.
"K-Keep your money, save your life!" The man yelled at her, fleeing from his own shop. Winry dropped the money on the counter, clutched the paper bag, and started to run for her life.
Soon enough, Frederick knew that it was feeding time; he could already start to hear the victim's cries when he looked out at the moonlight through the window.
He grabbed his violin case and started to head outside, where it was unsafe. Of course, for him, it was the complete opposite.
Winry tried to find her way 'home' but he felt her was searching aimlessly around. She couldn't see in such a night; the only light provided was the moonlight, but that was not even enough.
She spotted a dark alley way meant for stray cats to roam around. Even though she knew it was not safe, she walked right into it. She hoped she could hide there at the night until dawn breaks out.
Frederick walked back to the mansion; the fact that there was a bit of blood on the tip of his mouth – which he later greedily licked – and also that his white shirt had a few faded drops of blood, told us that he drank all the blood he needed for the night, savoring each drop.
He soon came to a stop when he heard something to the far right of him move. He inched closer to the sound to hear louder shuffling. Soon enough, he stood in an alley way.
That's when he spotted something – someone – pushing itself against the brick wall, eyes shut tight in fear.
He moved towards the shaking figure, taking in note that it was probably a human. He also noticed a paper bag in the figure's hand. He suddenly, and fiercely, placed his hands on each side of the item's head, or so what it appeared to be. He saw the figure's eyes open to reveal dimmed, green colored eyes.
When a car passed by, the headlights had flashed into the alley way and had shown what – who – the figure really was.
Winry.
He seemed a bit shocked by composed himself as he leaned back. She was still up against the dirty wall, cowering in fear. And that's when he heard other vampires run. In a split second, Frederick had her pushed up against his chest and just like that, a knife came out of his back pocket and was placed lightly against her back, making her feel the sharp point at the tip.
"W-Wha-" Her words were cut off as his hand covered her mouth.
"Scream, move, kick, or run, and you'll die before you die as a sacrifice," He threatened as he still saw the vampires' shadows run, racing for blood.
He felt a trickle of what seemed to be sweat from her forehead fall onto his finger. He could obviously tell she was scared. Although she was being threatened, the warmth from his body comforted her in the cold, despite him being a Vampire.
Only after the vampires had stopped running, He pushed her forward and placed the knife back into its case. Winry took in note that he had a knife behind him for more protection, probably.
"W-What was that for?!" She choked out of fear which was what currently taking over her mind.
"Payback," He simply said.
"For what?" She whispered.
"You didn't tell Henry it was me who had eaten the bread," He explained. "I would've got punished by father," Frederick spat the last word out, venom dripping from it. The disgust for the word was clearly shown on his face. "So I returned the favor by saving your life."
"By the way," She said, trying to build up some courage, "I wasn't s-scared." He just had to smirk at that.
"Really now?" He asked, taking steps towards her, who was again against the wall.
"Y-Yes," she said, trying to sound confident – which failed.
"You weren't scared of dying painfully and slowly?" He stepped close to her as she kept pushing herself against the gray wall. He bent down to her height level, making sure to be eye to eye. He slammed his hands on to the wall on, encasing her between his arms."You were," his icy breath breathed on her, "scared."
When she poked an eye open a surprised gasp escaped her rosy lips. She noticed how close he was to her. Green met amethyst.
"My Prince! Are you saving this mere human from death?!" Another vampire who was also looking for blood stumbled across him and Winry. He seemed to have the idea that the Prince of all Vampire was saving a human. This, of course, was the situation's truth.
Frederick scoffed. He stood up straight and backed away from Winry, standing coolly. He sent a hard, cold glare at the other vampire's direction. "You just interrupted me from suck her blood, you imbecile," He said. Another lie followed by another, no?
"S-Sorry my Prince!" The vampire bowed his head in shame and apology. Frederick knew he had to suck her blood even though he wasn't hungry or intended to; otherwise word would go around that he helped save a human. And that, for his status, is degrading.
"Tch," he bent down to her level once again, baring his fangs, and tilting her head to expose her neck. He even saw two faded bite marks; the ones from before. Right before he bit her, he took a look at her face.
She was terrified.
For the first time before having a meal, remorse flashed through his eyes. "I'm sorry…Winry," he whispered, barely audible, remembering her name. Her eyes had grown wide from the words he had spoken, though she still couldn't read his eyes.
Then his fangs met her neck.
