HARUKA'S POV
I woke up from a restless night of sleep. Hayoung had returned from her date with Taehyung and she called out my name softly to see if I was still awake.
"Haruka?" Still angry, I gave a little sigh and pretended to be asleep.
The next few days after that we would kind of just ignore each other in the dorm room and in class and during lunch I would sit with Namjoon, Jinhwan, and sometimes Ailee while Hayoung sat with Jungkook, Taehyung, Hanbin, and sometimes Amber. All of our friends could feel the tension between us but knew it was best to not ask.
After ignoring each other for a few days maybe even a week, we were both laying on our beds a couple nights before the dance competition. I could hear Hayoung moving around on her bed, and I knew she only did this when she was stressed.
"Can't sleep?" I got no response at first, due to Hayoung's surprise that I was finally talking to her again, but she eventually replied sadly.
"Yeah... Haruka?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm really sorry... I didn't even realize I was spending so much time with Taehyung and so little time with you. Also, the time I forgot our dinner plans was really a big mistake. I was just so caught up with practicing and perfecting the dance routine that it totally slipped my mind and when Taehyung asked if I wanted to get dinner, I was so hungry that I just immediately answered yes. I really was looking forward to our plans though... please believe me when I say this. You know I always love having our girl's night watching movies together, talking about korean boy groups, and trying to learn kpop dances."
Silence filled the room for a few seconds. I realized how much I missed talking with my best friend.
"I'm sorry too. I guess I was just caught up with the dance competition too and I just felt like I was losing my best friend. I didn't mean to be so harsh..." I felt bad for what I had said in the heat of the moment. It was just that Hayoung had seemed to pick Taehyung over me and I didn't like the feeling of being left behind.
I could tell that Hayoung was smiling as she talked. "Nah. It's my fault too... so are we okay now? I really miss eating with best bud."
I was now smiling as I talked too. "Me too."
I couldn't help still feeling a little hurt. Even though we had made up so quickly, it didn't make up for what she had done. I know how this goes. We'll be great for the time being, but when it comes down to it, I'll still be left alone. It had already happened to me once before... I hope this time I won't have to lose a friend. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.
I woke up and then realized that it was finally D-Day. It was the morning of the competition and everybody's stress levels were through the roof. I had been practicing my dance number with Jimin as well as attending regular classes and learning the group routine. We all had been practicing non stop for this one day. As I walked into Teacher Jung's room, I saw that Hayoung was already on the floor, stretching.
"Hey, you ready for this?" I asked. I knew she was nervous because yesterday night all I could hear was Hayoung's tossing and turning in her bed, but I knew she had improved a lot since starting practice with Taehyung.
"I sure hope so," she responded quietly.
"HARUKAAA HURRY UP LET'S START PRACTICING!! HI HAYOUNG!!" It was none other than Park Jimin.
"Ya, I was just about to get up, calm yourself."
Jimin and I knew all the steps and had gotten our routine to practically perfect. The only thing left to do was to practice until we gained even more confidence for the stage that night. Just then Teacher Jung and Taehyung walked into the practice room.
