Parker's POV
Today was Saturday and we were going to the park to skate, only Reggie was joining us today. I'm guessing Evan felt embarrassed from last night, I probably shouldn't have done that. But Lainey said she'll think about giving him a chance, so I guess it wasn't all that bad.
We were walking because it didn't take that long to get to the park. Everything's in pretty close distance for the most part.
"You need to apologize to Evan. That was so mean." Lainey said, and I pouted. I snuggled to her side, and she pushed me away.
"Stop trying to be cute, I'm supposed to be mad at you." I laughed, and wrapped my arms around her small waist.
"Can you both stop? I feel like a third wheel, are you sure you both aren't on a date?" Reggie complained, and Lainey went to console him.
We neared closer to the park, and I could see all skate ramps. "Alright, Lains try and stay close and don't go near the big ramps. It's not safe, you're still a beginner."
"Thanks for the motivation." She said, sarcasticly, and I rolled my eyes.
I hurried over to one of the ramps to practice some latest moves I still wasn't able to achieve. I was too focused to notice a small group of girls forming.
"Wow, Parker. I never knew you skateboarded so well." I looked over and I could feel my checks lightly tint a rose color.
Trisha Mais, most prettiest girl to grace the halls of our high school, was actually noticing me.
"Well, I didn't know you came here." I smiled. She gestured towards her friend. "Actually, I don't. Hayley's boyfriend is a skater, and she wanted to come see him. His name is Reggie."
"Reggie? I think I may know who you're talking about." I said, a bit confused that I never heard of him having a girlfriend.
"Oh yeah, he's one of your friends." She said, enthusiastly. "Along with Lainey. Where's she?" Her tone flatened a bit mentioning Lainey.
Just as I was going to responded, a horrifying scream echoed through the park. "I think that may have answered your question." I rushed over to the crowd gathering around a ramp, Trisha and Haley hot on my heels.
I pushed through to see, Lainey holding her arm in pain, and Reggie checking over her for cuts and scrapes. I kneeled near her and whipped the tears streaming down.
"Those jerks," she chocked out. "they pushed me down the ramp." I clenched my hands knowing exactly who she was talking about. I was already up, storming over, when Reggie stopped me.
"Look they deserve it, but at this present moment our friend needs us." He winked. "We'll come back for them later."
The emergengy room was where we wound up waiting for the final notes of her situation.
"Aww, Lains." Maddie hugged her, and I tugged on her so she wouldn't be so hard. The left part of her ribcage suffered a bit during the fall too and was starting to bruise.
"I'm just glad your head survived the fall." Joey ruffled her hair, and she smiled a bit.
"I just called Lauren. She's taking you home afterwards and you can rest and let your body heal up a bit." Liv informed her. "After all school is starting this Monday, you need all the rest time will allow."
"At least people can sign your cast at school. I remember those kids had all the attention during elementary school days." I hugged into her.
"Alright, folks. The right side of her ribcage is going to be sore for a few weeks but there's no broken ribs so it should heal up well. Bring her back for a checkup on her arm in six weeks and from there we'll decide if we should remove the cast."
We walked out into the waiting room to see Lauren there. "Hi, Joey."
"Hey, Lauren. I hope your sister heals well." He comments and I roll my eyes. It's like watching middle schoolers interacting.
"Thanks, Parker." Lainey kissed my cheek, and I felt myself blush. For the first time, Lainey had something to do with my cheeks turning crimson.
