it was christmas day. violets aunts and uncles came to visit for the day bring they million children they have. she was reading a book in the loud house, kids whining, babies crying.

and to add a doorbell ringing. she huffed, getting up from her spot and walking to the door. she was greeted by the cheeky smile that was a signature for nick.

"merry christmas, violet." he says, wrapping his arms around her. they've never hugged before. this was the first time.

she hugged back, wrapping his arms around his neck as he lightly picked her up, making her squeal a bit.

"so, i got you a present." he states. violet furrows her eyebrows, as nick takes out a small box and placing it on her hands. he looks up at her, his hand on the box and the other on her hand, nodding to open it.

a small smile forms on her face as she opens it revealing a small silver bracelet. "it's the one you kept eyeing down at the antique shop."

a full smile broke out on her face and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "thank you, nick."

"my pleasure."

violet pouts, looking at him with sad eyes.

"what's wrong?" he asks.

"i don't think my present for you is going to beat this."

he smiled, "oh come on. try me."

nick followed behind her, saying a hello to her family before disappearing into her room. it was his first time there, the room being a light grey color and random writing on her wall, an oasis poster being the only thing on her wall.  her desk piled with poetry books and notebooks. it looked really cozy. violet rummage through things, looking for nick's present.

as soon as she found it, she quickly turned around giving him the wrapped box. he smiled at her, the signature smile but with something more to it. nick placed himself on the edge of her bed, ripping away the wrapping paper and opening the box. "violet, you didn't."

"oh but i did."

"violet!" he breathes, pulling her onto her bed. violets back falls onto the mattress as nick hugs her tight.

she got him a jacket. he's been wanting a new one and they went to an antique shop one day, looking at everything. he wanted the jacket but it was a bit out of his price range. same to violet. she wanted the bracelet but all she had was five dollars.

nick looked down at violet, his cheeky smile spreading on his face. "you know you're an awesome friend. like i know you always decline it but i think you are."

violet had a small smile, looking away from him but then she felt lips kiss the top of her forehead. nick laid down next to her.

thats how they spent christmas day. looking up at the wall and embracing each others company.
