10 - An Unexpected Thing

Lily was staring at the glass of whiskey she was holding. Everything was wrong, again. She screwed up everything, again. And she thought that this time it would be different, that she could be happy. She slowly chuckled at the thought and took a sip of her drink. How could she be happy? She was dark, just like she has told Emma a month ago, she was an anti Savior. Wether here or outside of this town, it would never change. She was a villain. And villains never get happy endings. She had to get used to the idea that she will never be happy. That she will never be with the woman she was in love with. She took an other sip of the alcohol, when the bell of the restaurant rang. She slowly turned her head to see who just entered. It was the Savior, smiling happily at her pirate boyfriend. She was holding the only hand he had left, and slowly kissed him on his lips. Lily sighed and turned her head to look back at her drink.
"Give me some minutes?" She heard Emma saying.
"Aye" Killian responded. "I order the usual, love ?"
"Yes" Emma responded, and Lily could hear her footsteps coming towards her. "Lily?" She asked, concerned. "What are you doing here ? I thought you were with Taylor"
"Well, I guess it will never happen again" she said as she was drinking the last sip of her whiskey.
"What do you mean ?" Emma asked as she was sitting down next to her friend at the bar.
"I screw up, again" Lily said as she put the empty glass back on the bar. "And now she went away."
Emma frowned. What the hell did Lily do to make Taylor be mad at her ? Insulting her ? Pushing her in her face ?
"I kissed her" Lily said as she saw that Emma was trying to guess what happened.
Emma opened her eyes wide.
"You did what ?" She exclaimed.
Lily looked at the ground, a bit ashamed.
"Why did you do that ?" Emma asked in surprise.
"What do you think?"
Emma gasped in surprise.
"Excuse me, but I still remember the moment when you had a bad boy as a boyfriend."
"We were teenagers. Things change"
"Yeah I see that. But you know, Taylor, she's not ..."
"I get that" Lily cut her off. "I still don't know why I did that. I should have known what will happen."
Emma sighed in pity. Right now, she was really sad for her friend.
"You know, Taylor is not the kind of person to be mad because of something like that. She will come back. I'm sure about that."
"You think? Because she didn't answered my calls or any messages I sent to her."

Taylor was sitting on a bench on the docks. She was staring at the sea, alone, as she was trying to understand what happened. Lily, her friend, kissed her. And she didn't push her away. Worst, she kissed her back. Taylor took a deep breath. Why did she do that ? Maybe because she liked it ... No. She couldn't. But what was she going to do ? She couldn't move on, pretending nothing happened. But she also couldn't go back to see Lily, and pretend that kiss was a good thing. Because it wasn't. Taylor slowly shook her head no. Why was this kiss worrying her so much? She had kiss some people before. Not only the boyfriends she had, but also some actors for her videos music. So why was she feeling this ? Maybe because it was real. And maybe because this time it was different. When she was kissing Lily, she has felt something she has never felt before. And she didn't know what it was. Taylor sighed and stood up. She had to think about this. She had to take time. She walked toward her car and opened the door, and sat on the driver's seat. Then she took her phone from the passenger seat and unlocked it. There were eight missing calls and a lot of text messages. All coming from Lily. Taylor sighed and put the phone back on the seat. She has told her friend that people here were more understanding, that they won't push her away just like other people did. But right now, it was exactly what she was doing. She was pushing her away. Taylor started her car.
It won't last, She promised to herself.
But right now, all she needed was time.

Taylor quickly entered her sister's office in the town hall. Regina raised her eyes from the papers she was working on.
"Taylor? What are you doing here?"
"I ..." Taylor started as she was a bit uncomfortable. "I want to tell you good bye. I'm going back to New York."
Regina raised an eyebrow.
"What ?" She exclaimed, a bit disappointed. "But you just arrived"
"I know but I have ... An emergency."
Regina raised an eyebrow. She didn't believe her.
"Look. There is some stuffs I have to take care of."
"Ok" Regina finally said as she was standing up. "But I hope I will see you soon"
She wrapped her arms around her sister for a big hug, and they finally pulled away. Regina kept her hands on her sister's shoulders and look her in the eyes.
"Did something happen here ?" She asked as she was concerned.
"What ? No. Everything's ok" Taylor lied.
Regina didn't trust her, but she decided to give up.
"Alright then. See you soon" Regina said with a little smile.
Taylor smiled her back and turned around to leave the office.
