Chapter 4
Devastation"Wait, what?"
Grant was the first one to say something. I was still in total shock.
I knew what I had seen.
Adventure.
The bikes were my answer to everything. They could give me the thing I've wanted all my life. For my heart to be racing and the smile on my face to be so wide my cheeks hurt.
Terror.
That's what I was feeling. I didn't even know how to ride a bike, how did Jay.....and the others....expect me do be one of them? A Rider?
I felt a tear run down my cheek.
I knew what I had seen in that vision was something I could never have, because I was afraid.
'How dare you' I thought to myself "you have the opportunity to have an adventure and you're scared.'
I felt more tears run down my face, and the knot in my throat getting bigger.
'The Riders are waiting, you know that, you will figure out the details later!'
A sob escaped my lips somehow, and Jay looked over at me. I then, could see everything.
All he had been through, all he had seen, why I had to be a Rider. His emotions, and his thoughts.
"I'm sorry Willow."
I shook my head at him. He didn't understand. He had dangled this hope in front of me like a dog to a bone. My face had tears streaming down it, the warm, salty water falling on to the floor like rain drops.
"Dammit Jay!" I screamed, my voice cracking.
I hit the white tile with my fist, hard.
It cracked.
I gasped out loud, Jay's blue eyes widened, and Grant's green did the same.
I just cracked a floor tile.
I just cracked a floor tile.
I just cracked a floor tile.
.................how.............the..............hell.......?
"You showed her?!" I heard Grant scream.
Everything was out of focus. I couldn't concentrate, I couldn't breathe...
As everything started to fade to black, three words rang in my ears.
'How dare you.'🚲
Jay knew what he'd done. It's not like he meant to, but Willow couldn't have grabbed his arm at a worse moment.
He was being attacked. It happened every time he slept. Usually the attacks weren't bad, and he could fend them off as he slept like flies around his ears, but since he was in a government facility (a hospital) it was extremely hard to fend it off.
It was the government that attacked him.
He held secrets that they wanted in his head. Things that could make or break the Rebellion . The government wanted unquestionable peace, and opinions weren't allowed anymore. Not ones that mattered at least.
The Riders were a threat to that 'peace'.
They knew secrets the Secret Service couldn't begin to imagine. They could hack banks with a push of a button.
They were the people that could see past the made up cloud of 'peace' the government had sustained over the eyes of the civil.
The government wasn't exactly happy about that.
The Riders went against the government because it was failing. The people of the world began losing faith, and the walls came tumbling down. The people were afraid, something needed to change. Somebody had to rebel.
That's exactly what they did.
The Riders had been quietly rebelling for years. Hacking into government run places, learning as much information as possible.
Trying to learn more.
As the number of Riders slowly began to increase the government saw them as more and more of a threat.
That's when the attacks began.
Riders began going insane. One, by heart breaking, one. Most committed suicide. Some, just disappeared.
They never gave up. Even after the number of Riders were cut in half.
They continued their work, being silent heroes in the dark.
'Because that's what the world needs' Jay thought, staring sadly at Willow crumbled on the floor
'A hero.'🚲
Freedom.
I was dreaming, I knew that much, because I was riding a bike.
It was exhilarating.
The ends of my brown hair were flying behind me. My legs burned from pedaling, but it is was a nice burn. One that made me feel unbeatable.
I didn't know where I was going, but as long as I kept this up, I was happy.
The buildings I passed were a blur. I was moving too fast to see them.
I loved it.
I wasn't even breathing hard! It was easy!
'Willow' I thought to myself 'you can do this.'
I was a Rider now. I had to be.🚲

"Sir?"
One of the officers approached General Ellison. He needed to hear this information right away.
"What is it Alex?" The General asked.
Alex froze in fear. How did the General know his name?
"Sir, we've found them."
The General's green eyes widened in excitement.
"Which ones?"
Alex almost relaxed. Almost.
"The two boys Jay Evans, Grant Sarver and a new girl Willow Thompson."
The General felt himself stop breathing.
'Not Willow' he thought 'not my Willow.'
"General Ellison?" Alex asked.
The General cleared his throat. The boys were dangerous either way. He'd have to deal with Willow later.
"Capture first. We'll decide what to do with them later."
Alex nodded. Maybe this was his chance.
He could meet some of the Riders, and maybe convince them to let him join them.
He prayed that they lasted that long.🚲
HEYYYOOOOO FELLOW RIDERS!
(All riders yell HEYO! When I say that.)
This chapter is exciting! Don't you think?
