Cal's POV
I couldn't believe it. My best friend Michael was laying in a hospital bed in front of me.
All the times that we joked about one another doing something stupid at each others funerals was just for fun. Now I don't need to hear the heart monitor stop beating because if it does so will my heart.
I'm not saying I like Mikey or anything it's just that he's my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him.
Right now I'm currently with Dez sitting in his room just praying that he'll be strong enough to pull through this. I know all of this was my fault. I told him that he should hurry to my house for a football game.
Why do I have to be so selfish. I didn't want to be with Dez alone. I mean she's my other best friend but still. The tension from a few years ago is still there.
"You know this isn't your fault right?" Desdionna said as she turned to face me.
"Yes it is! If I hadn't want to watch a football game with my friends together when we were supposed to be studying this would have never had happened."
"IT'S NOT YOUR FAUL-"
Just as Dez was about to tell me lies, Ashton, Mira, and the hot kid from Maths walked in.
I didn't expect him to be here knowing he didn't know Michael that well.
"Hey guys, this is Luke. I think he's in your Maths Cal." Mira said to all of us.
Luke. Luke. Lukey.
Cal snap out of it. He can get any girl he wants.
Why would he want to go out with some weird kid whos in his Maths?
"Hi." Luke said sheepishly as his cheeks turned pink.
I nodded to him.
Just then the doctor walked in with Mikes results.
"So, Michael has some scratches. Nothing major, but he's gone partially deaf in both ears from impact." (Idk about car accidents but just roll with it.)
Dez excused herself, probably to cry from shock.
"What?" Said Ash and I at the same time.
Just then Luke left the room without making a noise.
"I should probably go check on him." I said as I headed towards the door.
As I walked into the hall I saw him there sitting with his head in his hands.
"Are you ok Luke?" I asked him.
"What? Oh yeah. It's just that I came here expecting Michael to have a couple marks and that be it."
" We all did Luke. It's not like we were all thinking he was going to be deaf. On second thought, what are you even doing here?"
"When Mira got the call, she was at my house and her and ash invited me along."
"So that didn't mean you had to come!"
What was I even doing? I was yelling at my crush for coming to the hospital where my best friend was pronounced deaf a couple of minutes ago.
"Sorry I didn't mean to intrude." Luke said as he got up and started to leave.
"No Luke come back! I didn't mean it like that!" I yelled to him as I chased after him.
"No, you're right. I didn't have to come and support my only friends best friend in the hospital." He yelled as he picked his pace up.
"LUCAS!" I yelled running at him.
"THATS NOT MY NAME!" He yelled back as he ran outside.
God damn this boy can run for being in a hospital.
"Luke please just turn around and listen to me!"
"Fine you have 2 minutes before I get to my car you have until then." He said slowing down.
"I'm sorry I'm just still in shock from that news so lashed out on you."
"Oh so I'm just supposed to except that and forgive you like nothing happened. You were yelling at me for coming to help Ash. It wasn't even your business."
"Luke please look at me."
As he stopped and turned around his blue eyes pierced my skin and went straight into my heart. And then something I never thought would happend happened.
I kissed my crush Luke.
I mean for Christs sake I don't even know the guys last name, but I did it.
At first it was just a soft kiss, but as he kissed back it depended.
I then realized that we were on a New York City street with about 20 people starring at us.
When he pulled back 3 people cheered and some gaged.
"What was that for?" Luke asked, his eyes still full of lust from when I first kissed him.
"Well I guessed I've liked you for awhile and now I thought was a good time to show you." I replied still in double shock.
"Well you're lucky that you're cute and I like you back."
