Lost Letters - Chapter 4

2 weeks later...

Elsa sighed heavily as she stared out the window that night. She moved her bangs out her face, since the wind wouldn't stop blowing it over her eyes. She looked out into the distance, taking in the beautiful view. She had been looking out the window ever since she watched her letter blow away, hoping to get the reply she expected. Slowly though, Elsa was starting to believe that the legend was just a legend.

Elsa looked over to the clock beside her bed, and saw that it was already quite late. She stood up from the chair at the window and made her way to her bed. She decided to leave her window open tonight, so that she could feel the cool breeze as she slept. Elsa climbed into her warm bed, and made sure she was extra comfy.

She closed her eyes, and tried to fall asleep. She usually laid there for a bit before she fell asleep. Elsa huffed, wanting to fall asleep faster. It had been a long school day, and she hated the amount of tests she had to do in her classes that day. Elsa was exhausted, but apparently not tired enough to fall asleep. She tossed and turned, but soon became a bit frustrated.

Suddenly, there was a small crashing sound coming from her bedside table. She opened her eyes and sat up, startled. Elsa looked around, and saw a small envelope on the floor. 'Could it be?' Elsa thought. She rose from her bed, and slowly walked over to the envelope on the ground. Elsa looked over to her window and her eyes widened. Out of excitement, she quickly grabbed the envelope from the ground and scurried to her desk. Elsa turned over the envelope to the front, and saw her name written. 'To Elsa Arendelle', it read.

At that moment, Elsa felt like screaming out of excitement. She was beyond happy. The feeling she had was indescribable as she teared open the envelope to reveal a letter.

Elsa quietly squealed and jumped up and down, careful not to make noise. She calmed herself and sat at her desk chair. She unfolded the letter, and huffed. Excitedly, she began reading it.

Dear Elsa,

My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, and don't you dare laugh at my name. I was born with it and I am not actually horrendous (at least that's what I think).

Elsa couldn't help but chuckle lightly. To her, Hiccup was a cute name. Strange, but cute. She loved originality.

Elsa read the rest of the letter, smiling at each and every single word. He wants to meet me someday, and I am the same age as him, Elsa thought and sighed heavily. How will they meet? She really doesn't know how. But if it is meant to be, then we will surely meet each other. That's how all fairy tails go, Elsa thought as she set the letter on her desk. Elsa took a glance at her clock and gasped at the time. Remembering the fact that she had school the next day, she quickly went to her bed, and got comfy. But the eagerness from the letter made her stay awake.

-

Elsa awoken to the feeling of being shaken, and realized that her sister was shaking her awake. She looked at her sister and her sister sat up, knowing that she had woken Elsa.

"Good morning, sis!" Anna greeted with her toothy smile. Elsa smiled back and sat up.

"Morning, Anna. Thanks for waking me up." Elsa said and got up from her bed.

Anna nodded a 'your welcome' and headed for the door. But before she got out of her room, she turned to face her sister. "Where'd you get that cute letter on your desk, sis?" Anna asked suspiciously.

Elsa widened her eyes and looked over to her sister. "Well, it's a letter... From a friend... At school." Elsa lied. She didn't want to tell her sister that she was actually trying out the legend their grandmother had told them years ago, Elsa just decided to tell Anna later on.

Anna nodded slowly, and just walked out of the room. Elsa rolled her eyes at her sister for invading her privacy.

The blonde stood in the middle of the room, trying to process what she was going to do. But then she widened her eyes from shock and gasped. Elsa went towards the letter sitting on the desk. Elsa was still extremely shocked that she had actually gotten a reply. Her shock soon turned into a smile. She sighed, and decided that she would just write her letter back when she got off from school, she had to get ready before it was too late.

For the entire school day, she really couldn't stop thinking about the words on that notebook paper. It was a simple letter, but what she couldn't really believe was the fact that she sent a letter that Hiccup received, but he replied back and she got his reply.

It was all coming together on why the wind message had made Elsa find her true love. It's one thing to send out a letter and someone gets it, but it's another when they actually reply and the wind carries the message back.

-

Elsa exhaustedly fell onto her bed, and sighed heavily. She had a very tiring day of school, and was just ready to relax. She looked over to the desk, and walked over to it. She sat down, and took one of her pencils from the pen holder. Elsa grabbed a piece of paper from her desk drawer, and sat back, thinking of what to write back to Hiccup.

After a while of thinking, the words just flowed onto the paper. Elsa knew exactly what to say, and wrote it all down. Excitedly, she grabbed an envelope from her other desk drawer and sealed the letter inside of it. She grabbed a pen, and wrote on the front, 'To Hiccup Horrendous Haddock'. She giggled lightly from the length of his name, and went up to her window. She opened it, and looked out. It was a clear and sunny day.

Elsa sat the envelope on the window sill, and waited for the wind to carry it away. Slowly, the wind began to pick it up. It was soon out of sight.

"Oh, Hiccup. You sure are someone special." Elsa said to herself. She smiled, and closed the window.
