After school David ran straight to the gym even though he didn't have to be there until 5 he wanted to get a head start on warming up. SJ, Molly, and Karli went to Karlis house instead so it was easier. They would all be there by 6:30 anyway so they could get good seats. David was stretching nonstop so he wouldn't pull anything. After a few minutes of running to make sure he had the stamina for the game. He checked his watch only to find that it was already 4:45. He headed to the locker room to get changed into his uniform. It was blue and green while the lettering and numbers were red. The logo was the indian Chief Ockanickon. Hense the reason that their team was the Chiefs. David put his pads and uniform pants on but he never put his jersey on for practice. He thought it was bad luck. Shortly after David got ready his team arrived and they began to practice. David and his team practiced and practiced until 6:30 when people started showing up. He looked up into the crowd and saw Molly, her brother Jack, Karli, and SJ. He was really excited to see them, but mostly SJ. He knew he had to get in the zone now. His coach called the team over for a huddle. He talked about the plays they would use against the Red Coats, but he had one final announcement.
"Boys, I have finally chosen a new team captain. The top two are David, and Austin. this was a very tough decision boys, but David... You're the new team captain." All at once they cheered and David was lifted into the air while Austin went and sat down on the bench.
The game went by quickly, and the Cheifs beat the Red Coats 28-24. David ran straight to the locker room to get changed do he could smell decent. Afterwards he and Aidan met their friends out front. Aidan ran right up to Molly and hugged her first then Karli and then SJ. David hugged Karli and then Molly. But got nervous when he hugged SJ. She laughed and blushed while Karli elbowed Molly hard in the stomach, referring to the soon to he right infront of them. They decide to go to Friendly's after to get the boys something to eat. It was right around to corner from the school, Aidan carried Molly on his back and David offered to Karli and she said no. David chuckled and then spoke.
"Hey SJ! Since Karli is a baby do you want a ride?" He smiled and SJ felt herself melt she couldn't help but agree and hop onto his back, him and Aidan raced while Karli ran ahead. When they finally made it, the group sat downand waited for a waiter, and Karlis boyfriend to show up. His name was Logan, and he was also on the football team but he had a funeral. And said that he would meet them after the game.
