I laid back on the concrete and closed my eyes. I could feel the heat of it against my back, it burned just enough to tell me I should get up. I felt relaxed, so I didn't listen. I laid there in the middle of the road listening to the birds chirp. After a few seconds I could feel the heat of the sun on my face.
"Jamie!" I heard someone yelling, but I felt paralyzed. "Get up please!" It was him, my love, his voice. "Jamie! Please!" I felt him grab me. "Why Jamie?" My eyes wouldn't open, my heart was beating slow, I tried so hard to scream. "Call 9-1-1!" I felt a pounding on my chest. "Jamie wake up!" It was over I couldn't breath...
-1 year before-
"These new friends of yours make me nervous." Sarah said.
"Sarah, you can't judge people you don't know!" I slid down in the passenger seat and crossed my arms "take a left up here and drop me off at the corner."
"I'm not just going to leave you!" She yelled turning.
"Well if you don't like him, no point in being around him!" She stopped the car and I jumped out. "I'll text you later." I slammed the door and started to walk away.
"I care Jamie!" She drove off.
I walked about a block before reaching his house. I stood outside for a minute, second guessing my choices.
"Coming in?" He swung the door open and stood there with that perfect smile. His black hair in his eyes, and his hat on backwards. "I don't bite too hard, as you know."
"Hey Kevin!" I smiled and hugged him.
"Come in. You know I can't be seen right now." I followed him inside and we walked up straight up the stairs and to his room. "Sorry Love, it's just hard right now. People can't seem to keep my name out of their mouth."
"I feel like that would be good for business." I plop down on his bed and smile.
"Having the cops on my ass? Good for business? I don't think you know anything about what I do." He sat down next to me and wrapped his arm around my waist. "What is the plan for today?" His smile told me he already had plans for us.
"I was thinking we could stay here, watch a movie?"
"Or we could go out? Meet some people? A lot of my friends want to meet you." He looks down as he talks and pulls out a box. "But you can't meet them sober. They will think you are a snitch." He hands me a bowl and smiles. I take a hit off of it without question. "Good girl." He says as he takes the bowl from me and hits it himself."
--------------
He makes me walk to another house with him, and I see at least 10 people standing outside. Kevin does a hand shake with each of them before introducing me. "This is my girl Jamie."
A guy who looks a lot like Kevin smiles at me. "I'm Meech. You look high as fuck." He says laughing.
I can't help but laugh too. "Don't worry about what I am." I felt like I fit in for one. "Why is everyone staring at me?" I whisper to Meech.
"You're new. It's hella common for them to do that. You ight though. You look a little clean for Kevin's taste." Meech looks me up and down.
"Clean?"
"Nothing babe." Kevin says interrupting. He looks at Meech, grabs my hand, and pulls me inside. "He is bad news babe. Stay away from him. Okay?"
"But he is your friend?" I was so confused.
"I'm not friends with meth heads. He is just here because he is dating Bree." He looks at the skeleton girl in the corner. I felt like she would be gorgeous if she wasn't so tiny. "She is Tyler's little sister. Speaking of Tyler.."
A guy walked up to us. He had to be atleast 23. He looked so perfect though, dressed in almost the same baggy jeans and snap back like Kevin, but his was so much better looking. He had brown eyes, brown hair, and he had to be atleast 6 inches taller then me. "Hey I'm Tyler" he smiled at me and I felt like a part of me jumped into his arms. I couldn't help myself, I was staring.
"She is a little high bro." Kevin said noticing me staring.
"Man, we have all be there." He laughed a little and my heart melted. "You okay?" His eyes were back on me again.
"Yu-yeah" I had to cough it out, my words were stuck. He nodded at me. "I think I should go home babe." I looked at Kevin. "I'm not feeling good."
"Do you want to walk back to my place?" Kevin grabbed my arm a little too hard. He knew what I was thinking.
"No. Sarah will pick me up." I smiled and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you."
He let go "yeah. Love you too. I'll text you off Tyler's phone."
I turned around and walked out the front door, already had my phone out dialing Sarah. She answered on the second ring. "Are you okay?" I could tell she was worried.
"Yeah. Can you pick me up? I can't walk." I was going to have to tell her.
"Send me the address." She hung up and I walked a couple blocks and sent her the address of the house I ended up in front of. She was there in no time.
"Thank you!" I said getting into the car.
"I can smell his drugs on you." She said pulling away.
"Don't be mad..." I couldn't get figure out why I was going to tell her, maybe it was the high.
"You didn't do it! Please tell me you didn't let him push you to do it?" She stopped In the middle of the road.
"We have been together for 4 months. I finally got to meet his friends, he said if I wasn't high they would think I was a snitch." I put my head down.
"I don't get you Jamie. You have changed so much. I don't like it. I don't like him."
"Please just take me home..."
