Chapter 4 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“For the last time Megan...I didn’t mean it! It......wwaaahaha.....was an...ggaaaaccident!” Jason cried as I continued to tickle him to death. After the interview, we decided to head over Jules’ house. My mom agreed immediately then went back to playing her game crying out something about chocolates and candy...
“How could you not recognize that it was me singing you nutthead!??” I ask and pin him down his bed. Jules was at the corner of the bed, laughing quietly at the scene.
“Look, I didn’t know, okay?! Just stop..please Megan it’s killing.....mmeee...!” Jason cries and I stop and sit on his bed, beside Jules.
“He doesn’t know anyways, so why are you so worried?” Jason asks.
“They have their ways J, let’s just hope they don’t use it well..” Jules says terrified. It’s weird on how Jules call Jason J and Jason calls her JJ, quite confusing if you ask me, but I got used to it after some time.
“You didn’t leave your name anyways so what’s the deal?” Jason looks at both of us with a dull look.
“Fine. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.” I put my hands up in surrender. Oh well, tough life.
“So any plans for the weekend?” Jules asks me and smiles at me. “I have a recital remember?” I reply. “Oh right, can I come and watch?” Jules asks and squeals.
I was having a recital this coming Saturday. I play the violin you see. I started ever since I was young. My aunt teaches music and my mom just wanted me to find a good instrument to play. So she chose the violin and I was playing ever since I can remember. I liked playing the violin, it makes my mom happy and that way, I release my stress. It’s my favourite pastime second to listening to music or singing.
“Um, no you can’t. We’re going to grandma’s remember?” Jason suddenly interrupts and Jules frowns. “Oh right. Sorry Megan, I can’t come...” She looks at me and frowns even more. “No big deal. It’s all fine.” I reply. This reminds me, I have to be practicing...
“Hey, I gotta go.” I look at my watch and see its quarter to 9. Still have some time to spare.
“Okay. See you tomorrow and don’t worry okay?” Jules says and hugs me before I stand. “Mmmkay.” I reply and leave for the door. “Megan wait!” Jason adds before I leave and I turn to face him.
“Yes?” I ask him as I face him properly. “I just wanted to say that I am truly, madly...” He looks at me in the eye and for a split second, I see something different in those blue eyes of his, but I just can’t name it.
“Go on...” I ask suddenly eager to know what he was about to say. “sorry for what I did.” He finishes the sentence and looks at me and gives me an apologetic smile. “Oh....it’s fine, really.” I say and smile at him. “Let’s just see what happens.”
“Okay. See you tomorrow then and......goodnight Meg” He squeezes my shoulders lightly and smiles at me one more time before I leave the door.
That was strange; during that moment...I felt different around Jason’s company. Could it be...? “Seriously Megan! What on earth are you thinking??! He’s like brother to you for heaven’s sake!” I mentally scold myself as I walk home, the thought still lingering in my head.
