Seeing that I was falling asleep half way through math really proved that those 3 hours of sleep I got last night was definitely not enough.
But the sudden silence that fell over the chatty classroom caught my attention.
I lifted my head off my desk and looked around the room. My eyes landed on a tall, curly haired, hazel eyed guy standing next to our teacher.
"Class this is Ashton Irwin " My math teacher announced. "He is new to this school so treat him nicely" she said.
"Take a seat Ashton" she said, pointing to the desk behind mine.
He nodded and walked over to the desk.
His eyes fell on mine as my eyes followed his every movement. His mouth curved up into a smirk and he gave me flirtatious wink.
I don't know what was with him. He felt... different. I don't know what it was, but he was giving me bad vibes.
When Ashton sat down the room was filled with whispering and chattering once again. Many girls would look back at Ashton and blush and turn back around continuing their fit of giggles.
When class was over I packed up my things and left the room. My next class was on the other side of school so I had to walk a bit quicker to get there.
I finally got to class and saw that I was the last in the room.
But Ashton was sitting in the back of the classroom.
How could he have gotten here before me?
I sat at the desk I always sit at, my eyes traveling to the curly haired boy sitting behind me.
His eyes arose from his book and found mine. A smirk painted on his lips once again. I turned around quickly and looked down at my history book.
Something is up with this guy 'Ashton' and I am determined to find out what.
School passed by quickly, making me rush home and change into some more suitable clothing for hunting in, before heading to the forest 5 minutes away from my house.
I walked the short distance and found the tree that was located in the heart of the forest. My bow was hidden in a old fox den that is located right next to the tree.
I kneeled down in front of the mud whole and stuck my hand into the hole, pulling my bow and my arrows out.
I strapped the arrows around my back and climbed up into the tree. I looked around, seeing nothing move but the few birds hopping around on the forest floor, hoping to find something to eat.
But I am patient. I could wait up here for days if I wanted too.
After 2 hours of waiting I decided they won't come if I don't do something.
The sky had begun to darken and howls have become audible.
The forest was truly amazing in the night.
It was almost mythical. But I wasn't here to sit and enjoy the forest. I was hear for a reason.
I took out a small glass bottle, about the size of a thumb, and pulled the cork off of the bottle.
One drop of the red liquid dropped out of the bottle and feel onto the lower trunk of the tree.
I waited.
There was a sound coming from behind a tree, not far from the one I was sitting in.
A large grey wolf emerged from behind the tree. The eyes were glowing red and its fangs were long and dangerous.
There it was.
A werewolf.
Something I have been waiting for for a month now. I finally found one.
I could see by the size and the eyes that it was a beta. Perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for.
The beast moved closer to the tree and I got my arrow ready.
I pulled the arrow back so that the end was by my cheek.
1...
2...
3...
I let go.
The arrow flying flew through the air in lightning speed.
The wolf gave out a cry for help and landed on the ground with a thud.
I had hit perfectly.
Right in the chest.
I had to get down to the boys before the transformation happened and the wolf turned into its human state like state again.
I climb from the branch I was sitting on to the branch below but stopped all my movements when I heard a howl.
A pack of 3 wolves emerged from the trees, circling the body.
The white wolf slowly turned into the human like state and kneeled down infant of the body that had now transformed back into the human state.
"No!" she cried. Tears streaming down her face and falling onto the corpse in front of her.
"Who would dare to do this?!" she yelled, her hands cupping her face as more tears fell out of her eyes.
The two other wolves had now turned into the human state and were knelt down besides the crying woman.
"David!" she yelled out.
The guilt that I had been trained to never let loose was threatening to show as I watched the scene below me.
"Who ever did this" she yelled in anger, I knew she was talking to me. "You will pay for what you have done" she sobbed.
"Come on Lila we have to go" One of the guys said. I have never seen them around before. They must have been a new pack, searching for a home.
"We have to find the alfa" The other man said, transforming into a wolf again.
I was thought that it was a beautiful sight to see a human transform into a animal, I still do. But it is wrong for me to say that. I am not supposed to think that.
The woman eventually turned back into the wolf and took the leg of the man, whom I just killed, in her mouth.
They ran deeper into the forest.
When I was certain that I was safe I slid down the tree.
The grass the corpse was lying on was flattened from the weight of the creature.
I breathed out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in and placed the bow and arrow into the den and covered it with leaves.
I started to walk back to the house.
My face hung low and my eyes staring at the earth in front of me.
