Nerd Takeover

Chapter 1

"Honey! Get ready for school!" Scarlett grudgly gets out of bed. "I'm up!" Scarlett looks at the clock. 5:00 A.M. "School doesn't start until eight!" No reply, of course. Her mom done this sometimes, even though they lived a block away from the school. Scarlett starts getting dressed, but takes her time, since she has practically three hours to get ready. She goes to the bathroom, brushes her teeth, then puts on her make up, she needed to look great today, but couldn't quite remember why.

She then goes down stairs to the kitchen, where her mom had made breakfast. Scarlett sits down, and digs in. "You ready for the big day?", her mom said.

"What do you mean?" said Scarlett, clearly confused about the question.

"Your supposed to be auditioning for a role in that play you've been telling me about. "Nerds Revenge", is it?" Scarlett then remembered why she felt she had to great today, she had auditions for the role of "Abby" in the play "Nerd Takeover" after school.

"That's today! Oh my! It totally slipped my mind! I can't believe I forgot!"

Her mother laughs, "You're as forgetful as your father."

"No worries mother, I still remember the part they gave me to study"

"Oh really, then give me an excerpt of your performance", her mom said, provoking a challenge.

"Okay" *Scarlett clears her throat* "Oh Kevin! I've missed you so much! I was worried sick! Why on Earth did you go out there to get back at those bullies, they could kill you!"

"The only reason you remember that is because your boyfriend Matt plays the part of Kevin" her mother teased.

"Yeah, yeah.", said Scarlett. She looks at the clock. 7:30 A.M. "Seeya mom, I love you, I'll tell you how auditions go"

"I love you Scarlett, I know you'll do great", her mom said, before Scarlett walked out the door, on her way to school.
