In the night I feel free

This is a poem I wrote for an anthology called The Tenants of building 38

The moon she shines and comforts me,
In the night I feel free,

Free from sun and prying eyes,

I seek myself to her light.

In the night I feel free,
I sit and read, and watch TV.
Sometimes I feel alone,
But I find comfort in my home.

I never were much for day time,
So I spend my life in night time.
The friends I have I rarely see,
I decide when It's time for tea.

A dog will bark, and I take the stairs,
It's nice to be out and breathe fresh air.
I start to walk and I look around,
everyone is walking with their feet on the ground.

Everyone is living their own life,
Husbands walking home to their loving wife.
I hurry to work, still feeling alone,
I do not see the moon, her light is not shown.

The clock is 4 at night when I come home,
Tired from work and the night that's gone.
I walk four sets of stairs till I reach to top,
I proceed to my door and then I stop.

I search in my pocket till I find my key,
I'm finally home, in apartment five- twenty-three
