"...Fall." Said (Y/N) in a wistful sort of way as she picked up the card that stirred memories of all sort memories of Alice and her as children. A time when they were closer and would spend that cool season raking up leaves only to jump into them and start the whole process over again. A time when the two of them would bake cookies that were over cooked and still act like they were the best thing in the world. Those were times that the two felt the closest. But, they no longer shared those joyous times and were slowly drifting apart. Their interests and likes kept the gap open.

Alice enjoyed to talking to boys and partying while (Y/N) enjoyed the quietness of her house and promises of a good book. As she continued to look at the card she no longer felt that magical feeling she felt picking up the card. She only felt a lingering sorrow and bitterness to the memories that it had stirred. Tossing the cards back on the table she scornfully glared at it as she swirled on her feet and rushed to her room.

As she entered her room she clumsily made her way around the stacks of books and art supplies that seemed to endlessly litter the floor. Grabbing the set of pajamas that lied on her bed she wandered into the adjoined bathroom. All while hoping a shower would help clear her mind.

Time skip

Walking out of the bathroom with a towel she was using to violently dry her hair off she collapsed on the bed. Her eyes were glued on the ceiling with her hair spread out surrounding like a halo as she drift off in thought. Sometimes (Y/N) wished to just escape from reality. The reality of her parents, Alice, and all the teachers and expectations that were all placed on her. As she closed her eyes she felt at peace in a way. Like when she wake up things would be different. If only she knew how right she had been that night.
