I felt someone roughly push me and call my name in attempt to wake me up. Since I didn't answer, the person continued to shove and yell my name purposely being annoying. Half of me was trying to fight waking up but the conscious side began placing visions of losing Mason in my head and I could smell the smoke coming from the cars. Then I remembered my deal with the golden eyed crimson woman, that's when I realized that the person shoving and calling my name was Mason.

My stomach flipped.

Immediately sitting up out of bed and seeing his annoyed but precious, perfect face, I grinned and pulled him to me for a giant hug. I could feel him trying to slither out of my grip so I tightened my arms around him and squeezed so I could hold him a moment longer. Everything was real!

"Mom!! Mellany won't let go of me!" Mason called to our mom. The ruby haired lady must've taken me back to a day my mom had been home in the morning.

A short second later, my gorgeous mom stood in my door frame prepared to yell at us to stop fighting. When she saw me hugging Mason she gave me a confused but happy look. "Mellany...are you hugging your brother?"

Letting Mason go, he stood by our mom looking frightened by my sudden burst of affection. We were twins but after dads death we kind of separated to heal by ourselves. "Ya and it was freaking me out." My brother said giving me a look that screamed 'you weirdo'.

"He never wakes me up anymore, I thought it was sweet." I shrugged chuckling like nothing was wrong. Literally, nothing was wrong at the moment cause everything was right.

"Well it'll never happen again. I'm taking the bus, I'll see you later mom." He kissed her on the cheek then left the house.

"You woke up in a good mood?" My mom smiled at me appreciatively.

I couldn't help but smile back. It was hard not to be in such a good mood when an accident really could be erased, all I had to do now was keep Dillan from hurting himself. "Yeah, I did."

She shifted insinuating she was about to leave for an errand. "Well school will be starting in an hour so you should probably get up hun. Your coffee will be downstairs on the counter, I have to run to the furniture store to replace the nightstand your brother accidentally demolished last night. I love you and have fun at school today."

"Love you too!" I called as she walked down the hallway to leave the house. "Have fun at work!"

It wasn't too cold outside so I decided to wear my ripped jeans with a black lace tank top covered by a red and black plaid button up. After I laced my white converse, I went downstairs and grabbed my coffee my mom had put in a to-go mug for me. I made it outside to my car just in time to watch Mason get safely onto the bus. Breathing out a relieved sigh, I got in my car, started the engine and took off to my first day on a mission.

I arrived at the school behind Mason's bus but before I could even park my car, he ran over to a group of his friends and they all went inside. I had planned on hanging out with him this morning so I could savor the moment of him truly being back but he seemed to have a different idea how to spend his so I thought about how I was going to talk to Dillan instead. Grabbing my car keys and book bag, I walked into the school building and began searching for the guy.

As I roamed the hallways looking for a tall brunette or a blonde girl with blue eyes, I happened to notice Loren walking my way. I almost tried to dodge her but she instantly came jogging towards me. She was a great friend but at the moment, I wasn't interested in anything she had to say. Saving my twin brother was more important.

"Hey I was just looking for you!" She hugged me.

"I just got here." I laughed. "But let me get back to you cause I got to um..find Mason really quick." I felt guilty for lying but let's be real, if I told her the truth, she'd flip out and think I'd need to see a counselor or something.

"Oh, okay well text me if you don't find him before English and if you do find him." She said.

"I will." I grinned and waited for her to turn around the corner of the hall before I kept walking.

Still in search for Dillan, I roamed the halls freely. I had maybe ten minutes before the bell rang for first period so I was fast walking through the school. It took me about five minutes but I had finally spotted the blonde hair that belonged to Rachael and fortunately, she was standing next to Dillan by his locker.
It was strange seeing him like this now. Before I hadn't really paid that much attention to him unless someone had made a scene in the hallway by laughing at him or just randomly catching myself staring at him in art class only because that was the only time he ever looked peaceful. After he dropped me, I did my best to stay out of his way. His brown hair was ruffled as if his hands ran through it several times today already and he wore a long sleeve black shirt and black pants. Rachel on the other hand was colorful. Dressed in pink capris and a blue shirt with a matching pink design on the front, she played with a lock of her hair as she spoke to him. His dull expression made me assume that he wasn't that intrigued in what she was talking about but then again he always looked that way.

Feeling brave, I approached the both of them and began speaking.

"Hey Rachael." I smiled widely.

She gave me an awkward, confused glare. "I'm sorry, are you lost?"

My eyes widened, her response was initially unexpected and then I recalled that I was taken back in time. We never met at the restaurant nor did we speak or sit next to each other at the funeral...that's why she was being so blunt and rude. I had to start from scratch again. "Um, no?"

"Are you sure because your friends are that way." She pointed towards the cafeteria hinting for me to leave.

She was being really bitchy. I didn't think she could be so mean! Instead of bickering with her, I switched my attention towards the guy I was supposedly going to save and she really didn't like that. "Dillan." I said and he looked back at me with hooded cocoa eyes but of course didn't say anything. I finished speaking so I wouldn't look anymore like an idiot. "I don't know if you noticed but we have English together and I was wondering if I could use your book. I left mine along with my homework at home this morning and I need to do it before third period." My eyes never left his as he stared at me with no expression on his face and of course he didn't say anything .

Rachael decided to speak for him. "No, why can't you use your friend's bo-" but before she could finish her sentence, Dillan was handing me his English book.

I smiled at him shocked that he actually let me borrow it. "Thanks. I promise to return it to you before our class starts." I said and then walked away to my first period since the tardy bell would be ringing here shortly.

To tell you the truth, all of my homework had already been done but I needed a way to slowly reintroduce myself. Now that I knew Rachael was going to be an overprotective, lovesick asshole, I'd probably have to catch him alone to see if he'd talk then. I wish the ruby lady with gold eyes would've told me more about his trauma so this wouldn't be so hard. I didn't know where he worked if he worked at all, I didn't know if he ever went to the movies or hung out anywhere outside his home and if not, then I was screwed because it'd be a little stalkerish if I had to follow him home everyday or something..
