Someone Like You
Chapter 1
"Why me?" Billy Pilgrim asked the one Tralfamadorian.
"Why you? Say, have you ever seen an insect locked in amber?"
"Yes."
"Well, here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why."
-Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut

The hug was cold, but sincere. At his superior height, all I could to was cringe. Cringe and cry. Cry a lot.
NARRATOR ALERT: (Not a collab.) Before I start, I must make one thing clear: This is not a love story.
It’s more importantly about the fatal flaws of love. It’s about the fact that there are more cons than pros when you are dealing with the subject of love. It’s about even the littlest of things, like how guys don’t understand that girls need to look perfect for them, or how girls don’t understand that boys just need some time alone on some days - they need to be just by themselves, playing video games. Or, it could be the fact that 40% of marriages end in divorce. Some people may say, “That won’t be me.”
Or, you may just be those very few like Autumn Hayes and Ezra Watson, who say, “That will be me,” and don’t have any plans for the future in regards to love.
So, I must leave you with the note that this is absolutely not a love story, but in fact the hamartias of one. Let’s just start from the beginning, shall we? I don’t want you, as a reader, to get your hopes up now, so I will start off with Act 1, Scene 1.
