*Maya's pov*

I huffed. I was so mad that Henry was here and that my parents would even let him in the house. I hated him so much. It took all I had to not punch him in the face. Magic was pacing, wanting to be let out, wanting to scratch his throat out. I would've let her. That little bitch deserved what he got, especially after all those nights I cried, all the crap I went though in the pregnancy.

*Flashback*

I had been away from my pack for a few months now and Magic and I weren't doing good at all. Every time I had to change from human to wolf or vice versa it became more and more painful. Today was no different. I needed to go on a run, get some steam out. If I didn't I was going to go crazy. When I finally calmed down enough I made my way back to where I had hidden my clothes. I began to make the change back to human. But this time was different. I was stuck. I huffed, out breath. It was like I had just ran for several miles. My body began to shake but not in a normal way. Then black spots entered my vision and I became extremely dizzy. I don't know how long this went on for but it went on until my breathing became shallow and I passed out.

When I came to I was in a white room that smelled very clean. The scent burned my nose and caused my stomach to flip. I pushed from the bed and rushed to the bathroom where any food I may have had in me came up. It wasn't until I was dry heaving that I heard the loud beeping and some commotion coming from the room.

"Oh, you poor thing," said a very soft motherly voice. I felt movement behind me. Then someone was tying my hair back as best they could before rubbing my back. The obnoxious beeping had stopped but was quickly replaced by a ringing in my ears. When the dry heaving had stopped I slowly moved my head to try and look at the woman who was helping me only for my vision to blur. After a few deep breaths I was able to see clearly again.

The woman that was helping me was an older lady with salt and pepper grey hair that was pulled into a bun on top of her head, laugh lines, and kind green eyes. She was werewolf, I could smell it coming off of her in strong waves, a Luna.

"Who are you?" I was able to finally ask.

"Luna Mavis. Luna of the Water Rock Wolves." she told me.

"What happened?" was my next question.

Luna Mavis hesitated for a moment before speaking, "You were brought in a week ago and have been in a coma since. When you were brought in you were bleeding very badly. At first we weren't sure where at first because of how much was around you. Once our doctor was able to step in we quickly found it was coming from inside of you. Then the doctor took an ultrasound and found that you were carrying pups. He worked hard and fast to get you stabilized but unfortunately one of the pups was miscarried. We are all so sorry for your loss." Luna Mavis informed me.

I sat there in shock. I was...pregnant? I was carrying twins. I had two living belongings growing in me and I had no clue.

Magic, I thought. Did you know?

There was a grunt fallowed by a huff, No. If I knew I would have stopped us from shifting how much we did.

Our shifting. That's what caused one of the babies to die. Tears roll down my face and my breathing becomes heavy. The room starts to blur again.

"Honey, you have to remain calm or we have to put you back in a coma. After the pup was removed the doctor assessed your situation. He wants you to calm down an he wants you to eat more. He believes that you should put on more weight. According to him you are already three months along. You're very skinny and he is wondering if that might have been part of why you lost one of the pups." Luna Mavis told me as she continued to rub my back.

I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm myself down. I had to think for myself and another little human now. I was beyond sad hearing that Magic and I had lost a pup. It was devastating to us both. Losing a pup for anyone in the werewolf community was hard but the parents always hurt the most.

I ran my hand over my flat stomach. How could we not have known? Had the rejection really hurt us so much that we hadn't noticed anything different? Everything in me wanted to blame Henry and the way he acted, what he did to us. But it was also what we did. Maybe if Magic or I had stopped going on runs the way we did or taken time to check for any body changes...

After meeting Luna Mavis she helped me in many ways and she did so until Mason was born. After the birth I was offered a spot in the Water Rock Pack for me and Mason. I had chosen to be on my own instead. I wanted to be able to go back to my mother and father's pack, back with my brother. I was grateful for everything that the Water Rock Pack had done for me and Mason and I would never forget what they had done for us.

*End of Flashback*

From next to me I heard a growl that was shortly fallowed by multiple from downstairs. I guess being away from a pack for so long I had forgotten to put my wall back up. I hadn't had to use it in so long. I gasped and slammed the wall up. My family must have just witnessed how I found out I was pregnant. I bit my lip.

"So, tell me what I've missed." I said to Maria, trying to distract her from my memory.

"Girl, don't you try and distract me. You have so much to explain. I know I wasn't the only one who saw what just went through your head and from the growls we heard I don't think your dad or brother are too happy.

"I didn't mean for that to get shown. It's something I'm not ready to talk about too much. I only got one baby instead of two and it's all my fault." I said, a tear crept down my cheek and I wiped it away as fast as I could.

"Babe," Maria said, hugging me and Mason to her. "When you're ready we'll all be there for you.

From behind us came a knock. There stood my mom with a concerned but understanding look in her eye.

"Can I hold my grand-baby, Maya?" she asked. We all knew how much Mom loved babies. For the last couple years she had already started joking about little pups running around again. "I thought it would've been Maria and Mark would have a pup first. The picture of my baby coming back with a baby of her own never crossed my mind. He's absolutely beautiful, Maya, and so quiet. He must get that from you. Your brother was always so loud. From the day we brought him home—"

"Mom!" I heard Mark from downstairs. We couldn't help ourselves as we all laugh.

"Don't 'Mom' me, Mark! So help me...I will show Maria your delivery video."

"Shit...Dad, you said you hid them!" Mark cried.

"Boy, your mother knows everything. You should know by now there is no hiding from her." Daddy's gruff voice said.

In this moment I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face. I was back with the people that I loved most.
