"You have never been one to be punctual have you?" Rangi called as they wandered deeper into the woods.
"Well you're the one keeping me in line, so I think that says more about you than me" Kyoshi retorted as she continued onwards.
They were after a hot spring Kyoshi had heard about years ago deep in the earth kingdom near the mountain range. Near enough on their way back to Yokoya island that she was able to convince Rangi of the detour.
"Koko's expecting us back today"
"Please? It's one day, I promise you can wake me up however early you choose to make the last leg of the trip, but one night alone with you is all I want"
The natural spring steamed in front of them as they undressed the fire bender urging Kyoshi to leave the fans with her clothes before they got in.
"How could one ever refuse the avatar" Rangi mutters to herself as she slips into the water Kyoshi right behind her.
"You say no to me all the time"
Rangi can't help but laugh. "Well that's because I'm both honor bound to the avatar and my wife. They cancel out, I can do what I please" She shrugged, before spitting water splashed in her direction.
As she splashed her wife back, Rangi could only feel like they've done this a hundred times before. A similar fight with no heat over and over again. No clear winner ever truly in sight.
Yet Rangi never grew tired, if anything she enjoyed their moments together more now if that was possible.
"You're makeup smudging by the way" She commented watching the eyeliner go across Kyoshi's cheek as she wiped the water from her eyes.
"And who's fault is that"
"Yours" Rangi sighed as she leaned back against the edge.
Kyoshi took the next moment to fully remove the make up from her face. Previously applied to make her brave at the diplomatic meetings in the earth kingdom.
But could now be removed and forgotten with the fire bender by her side.
"I see you've taken some of Lao Ge's advice then"
Kysohi looked up, furrowing her brows, not sure if it was supposed to be an insult or not.
"What do you mean by that, I told you I met him in the last town"
"You have less wrinkles than me" Rangi said, eyes narrowing in on her wife's face.
But Kyoshi only laughed, she had visited Lao Ge to discuss his methods of immortality, but not for that reason. Though a potential benefit, to tease Rangi about definitely.
"This era is taxing," Kyoshi started to explain. "I can't be caught lacking, and so I thought if there was a way to help me retain my muscle and strength longer so I don't get hurt that would be better"
Rangi raised her eyebrows, before moving closer to Kyoshi. A hand slipped out of the water to cup Kyoshi's tanned and freckled skin. Feeling the soft warmth it supplied, as her eyes locked on her.
"I didn't think I would live to see the day you would actually take care of yourself." She whispered as she pulled Kyoshi into a gentle kiss.
When they pulled back the fire bender continued to pepper kisses across Kyoshi's face, trying to touch on every freckle.
