Another concert done. I sat slumped in the back seat of our van, filed in between two of my best friends. Kurt Cobain on my left and Krist Novoselic on my right, both of which were sleeping. They must be zonked from the concert they just played. Every bend the road took, one of them would rest their head on my shoulder unintentionally. It was quite uncomfortable seeing as they were both snoring like mad. I'd gently place them back to their seats, although they would eventually fall back on me.

I heard a snicker from the front seat, I glanced at the rear-view mirror above to see Dave Grohl smirking at me. It was his turn to drive the way back and so he was sat in the drivers seat. He too was one of my best friends, I became friends with him a couple years back when he joined Nirvana. Unlike Kurt and Krist, I've known them since high school.

"You having fun there, Hannah?" Dave grinned while his eyes on the road.

I rolled my eyes and replied, "Loads." He quickly turned his head to his side then back to the road.

"Hey, climb in the front seat, next to me." He patted the seat, and I did as he said. I unbuckled my seat belt, pushed myself away from the two snoozers and quickly climbed into the front seat, seeing as Dave was still driving.

"Thanks," I mentioned with a smile, "I don't know why I'm always the one who sits in the middle anyways."

Clunk.

I looked towards the noise, and it turns out it was Kurt and Krist. They had bashed heads together. Sharing a groan they sharply returned to their original position and continued to sleep. I covered my mouth as I laughed to shield noise, not as if it would affect Krist or Kurt in any way.

"What? They're still asleep?!" Dave chuckled.

"I've never seen them this tired after a concert before," Dave nodded.

"I've never seen Kurt or Krist tired like this ever," he added.

I giggled but still tried to control my laughter, Dave glanced at me and a teethy grin appeared across his face. He held one hand over his mouth and a large yawn developed. I could tell he was struggling to keep his eyes open.

"Aren't you feeling knocked out from the concert too?" I asked. He gave me another nod and replied,

"Yeah, actually."

"Here, I'll drive the rest of the way home," I suggested.

"Nono, don't wo-"

"C'mon, I'm wide awake. I'll take the wheel," I motioned my hands towards myself. He smirked and gave in,

"Alright then." He drove into the next closest lay by and lifted up the hand brake. We both stepped out the van to swap sides, as we passed each other he brushed his hand across my arm and whispered,

"Thank you, Hannah." I smiled in response and replied,

"No problem." We both slipped back into the van, now I was in the drivers seat. I pushed down the hand brake and continued the drive home. I turned my head briefly to glance at Dave, he was already facing me. It gave me a fuzzy feeling inside my stomach for some reason. I wasn't quite sure why he was staring at me so intently but I tried to act normal anyways. I looked back at him again,

"You can fall asleep now, y'know," he gave me a side smile, then shuffled in his seat to make himself comfortable. Dave now had his eyes closed with one hand underneath his cheek, his long dark hair covered most of his face.

I kept my eyes on the road and let thoughts run round my mind. Lately, I feel as if I'm developing feelings for Dave... I know it's wrong, or whatever. He's my best friend. Is it... normal for me to have these feelings? I don't know.

The perks of liking your best friend is probably being able to hang around them all the time, although if you tell them your feelings you'll be afraid of messing your whole friendship up. Well, I cannot tell Dave anyway.

I sighed out loud, due to the complicated thoughts on my mind.

"What you thinking about?" The voice next to me made me jump out my skin. I thought he was asleep?

"Oh, nothing. Can't you get to sleep or something?" I tried to change the subject.

"I'll fall asleep soon enough, but seriously, you seem worried? Troubled? What's on your mind?" He questioned although I knew I wouldn't tell.

"It really is nothing. Now you fall back asleep, you need it," I insisted. I turned to see if he was listening to me, he continued to stare at me as if he was trying to mind read. I laughed while covering his eyes up with one hand attempting to them.

He eventually fell asleep after many questions and the odd conversation, I knew the lads in the back were asleep so there was no point on checking on them. The next hour consisted a long, silent, except for the odd snore, journey home.

As I pulled up to the drive of our small home, I slowly parked the van and turned the key. Judging by how knocked out the others were, I did not fancy carrying the other guys out into the house, and so I decided to rest my head against the window to doze off to sleep. I let my eyes close slowly to drift off.

Opening my eyes slightly, I found myself in someones arms. I was being carried bridal style into what I assumed was our home. I let my eyes adjust to the darkness before realising whose arms I was in. Long, dark hair, this was Dave. Due to me still being half asleep I didn't react surprised, instead I lifted my arms over his shoulders and around his neck. He kept a firm hold of me and leaned a little closer towards me and whispered softly,

"I didn't mean to wake you up, I'm sorry." We were now in the bedroom where all four of us share. It consisted of two bunks on either side of the room, I slept on the top bunk and Dave slept on the bottom. He continued to whisper,

"I don't think I'll be able to lift you up there, you can have my bunk tonight." He gently placed me down on the bed and tried to pull away although my arms were still wrapped around his neck.

"You can let me go now." I heard him laugh under his breath.

"Please don't go," I lingered the 'o' noise of "go" to emphasise my point. He paused for a few seconds but finally reacted by replying with,

"Sure." He slipped onto the bed next to me with my arms still around him. I smiled uncontrollably and probably looked like an idiot.

"Thank you," my eyelids became heavy leading to me dozing off almost instantly. Just before I reached deep sleep I felt Dave's hand rest on my waist, shuffling himself a little closer he silently whispered,

"Sweet dreams."
