Chapter 3

The Shrink

Song of the Chapter: Monster by Eminem ft. Rihanna

Evelyn's POV.

I'm still shocked from the phone call, but I decide to ignore it for now. That's kind of hard though....

I decide to research where Lena lives on my laptop later, and focas on getting to the Shrink. I grab my phone purse and diary (which I put safely in a wegmans bag), and head out to my car.

I drive to the place where I will meet Dr.Payne, and after checking in, I wait in the waiting room.

I have to say there's a lot of weirdos here. One is talking to a blank space next him, another is having a conversation with himself, another is nodding his head at the ceiling, and another is talking to her poodle like the poodle is a person. I scoot away to an empty area. I don't think I'm this crazy.....

Well, maybe I am.

I think of the phone call I got from the unkown caller. If that person wanted the diary, then that means that I'm not crazy, and that there really IS something special about this book...

All of a sudden, a young man approaches me, and says,

"I can tell the future."

"Um..." I say, scooting away from him.

"Did you know, that in 2918 we will be invaded by zombies?"

"Uh...no...I didn't know that..."

"Well now you do. Would you like to know your future?"

"Um...sure?"

"Oh..." His face changes. "Your future doesn't look so bright." All of a sudden, a woman rushes over.

"Frankford! Get back in my office!" The woman drags the man away. I just sit there frozen.

"Miss Parker?" I quickly glance up to see a young man with a clip board waiting for me. He has light brown hair and brown eyes, with light skin. I smile and get up, following him to his office.

"What seems to be the issue?" He asks, after we get seated with cups of tea.

"Well....I bought this diary at a tent at the Arts Fest...." And then I explained everything to him. He just nodded his head, looking concerned the whole time. When I'm done, he says,

"Do you have the diary with you?"

"Yes." I say and take the book out of the bag. I open it up and hand it to him. "See it's right over he-"

Our conversation is gone. Anything Harry and I had said to each other is gone. Leaving nothing but the info on Lena that I had written.

"What the...?"

"There appears to be nothing here, Miss Parker." Dr.Payne says. "Nothing but this." He points to what I wrote.

"I wrote that..." I say.

"I see." I shake my head.

"I swear! It was right there!"

"Do you have any background of seeing things?"

"No."

"Hm..." He says, thinking for a moment. "How old are you Miss Parker?"

"17."

"Well then...I guess this is a normal age for hallucinations."

"Not really..."

"Well, it is possible that you're imagining things. Maybe you thought you bought it at Mystical Antiques or whatever it was called, and instead bought it somewhere else."
