New Diary

Evelyn's POV.

"Ohh let's go there!" Lizzy says, pointing to a tent with expensive jewelry. I shrug.

"Sure, I guess." We head over, and Lizzy touches everything in sight.

"How much is this?" She asks the owner, as she picks up a giant emerald necklace.

"652 dollars." The woman replies. My eyes bulge.

"Liz, that is too much. Please tell me you're not planning on buying that." She sighs.

"I know...but it's tempting..." The woman grimaces at me.

"If she wants to get it, let her get it." She says sourly. I glare at her.

"You just want the money." I say bitterly. I grab Lizzy's arm. "Come on, there's other tents to visit." She sighs, but puts the necklace down.

"Whatever." I hear the woman mutter as we walk off.

"Where to next?" Lizzy asks me.

"Hm...how about that one?" I point over to a weird looking tent, that looks like it has ancient and antique things. Lizzy shrugs.

"If you want." If it isn't beauty related, Lizzy doesn't care. But I walk in anyways.

"Hello." I greet a sour looking lady. Why is everyone here so grumpy? I didn't think the Arts Fest would have such rude people...

"Hmph." She replies, and I read her tag on her shirt, that says Lena.

"Lena." I say.

"So?" I look away.

"Um...sorry...uh...oh! Do you have any journals?" I remember I need a new diary...

"What? Journals? No!" She says. I spot one over in a corner, and frown.

"Yes you do, there's one over there." I point to the area.

"That one's not for sale!" She snaps.

"But there's a price tag on it!" I exclaim.

"Yes, but it's very expensive."

"It's ok, I've been looking for a new diary anyways. I'm not planning on buying anything else today." Lena's eyes bulge.
"It's 240 dollars!" For a journal? Doesn't seem worth it..but then again, it must be a good one, if she's throwing a fit about selling it.

"Oh well. I'll buy it anyways." I walk over to get it, but Lena beats me to it and snatches it.

"Fine. But are you sure you want to spend your money on some old journal?"

"Positive."

"Fine." She says again. I cash it out, and walk out to Lizzy. I can feel Lena's eyes on me, and I give Lizzy a little shove.

"Come on, let's go."

There aren't any other tents we want to go to, and it's getting late, so we head back to my car.

"What did you get?" Lizzy asks me as I put the key in and start up the engine.

"Just a new diary."

"Ohh what does it look like?"

"I'm not exactly sure, I didn't get a good look at it."

"Really?"
