The Witch and The Justice League

Chapter 12

(Bruce's P.O.V.)

  It's been a week since I told Emma my secret, and she's taken pretty well. Dick was excited. He even offered to teach her gymnastics, and how to use the trapeze. The others were shocked that I told her, but they didn't really seem to mind. Damon, to my surprise, offer to teach her self-defense.
  In that short week, Emma was beginning to gain some confidence, not a lot, but it was a start.
I was up at the Watchtower looking for the only other person who may know something about this. I found her in the cafeteria talking with Dr. Fate.
  "Zatanna."
  She turned to look at me raising a black eyebrow. 
  "I'll see you later Zatanna." Dr. Fate said.
  She nods her head before getting up to follow me to League conference room. 
  "I assume that you've heard that I've adopted another kid." I stated. "It would seem that the child has show signs of having magic."

  Zatanna instantly perked up. "Really? What's the child's name?" 

  "Emily Lily Potter." I said pushing a tablet with Emma's picture over to her.

  Zatanna's eyes widened in recognition. "She's the Girl-Who-Lived! Batman, this child, how did you find her."

  I told her how young Emma had appeared in the middle of the meeting room of the Watchtower, seriously injured. Zatanna's eyes hardened in anger when I told her that Emma's relatives were behind her injuries. She mumbles under breath about something. I told her of Emma's dream the other night. My eyes narrowed when Zatana's face paled as she looked at me in horror.

  "She remembers that night." She whispered. "Batman thank you for taking my goddaughter in. I should of never trusted Dumbledore."

  That surprised me, but I didn't show it. "Goddaughter?"

  "Yes, Lily and I were close when we were younger. I was crushed when she and James died." She answered.

  "So I assume you know Emily's story." I stated.

  Zatanna sighed. "Batman remember when I told you about the Wizard World? Well Emma's not only one of them, but she's also very famous. That dream she had was of the night that a dark wizard, Voldemort, came to her house and murdered her parents. He tried to kill her, but for some reason he failed to kill her. Emma is the only known survivor of the Killing Curse."

  "What happened to Voldemort?" 

"No one knows. Some say he died. Others say he's still out there." She said. "Batman, can I meet her? I actually new her parents before they died. I could tell her a few things about them." 

  "I'll see what I can do." I said. 

  "Thank-you. I'll see you later." Zatanna said leaving.
