Chapter Four

Beth’s P.O.V.

“What do you kids need and why is she sleeping?” I hear Bumble Butt say. I open my eyes and I can only see black. Oh, I’m still in Ryan’s lap. I smile and sit up slowly so I don’t hurt my stomach.

“Sorry Mr. Bumble, I had to take a lot of pain killers earlier when I had to get more stitches. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” I smile up at him and try to sound nice.

“You should’ve gone home if you wanted to sleep.” He barks and turns towards Ryan. “What are you doing in here?”

“I accidentally said a few harsh words to my English teacher.” Ryan says with a small grin. Bumble Butt turns around and starts talking to someone else.

“What’d you do?” He asks.

“I told my teacher she was ugly and that I thought she could work as a stripper when she wasn’t at school.” I hear a familiar voice answer. I look around Bumble Butt and see the new kid. He said that to our Algebra teacher? He’s the reason I’m in here anyway! Stupid new kid. I cross my arms and glare.

“Babe, what’s wrong?” Ryan asks me in a quiet voice.

“He’s the whole freaking reason I’m in here!” I say not even trying to be quiet about it.

“What’d he do?” I tell him about the notes and my threat and lastly me getting sent to the office. “What did he say in the note?” Ryan asks me. Should I tell him? I mean, I don’t really like the new kid but I don’t want him to die either.

“It said ‘Wake up. You’re too pretty to sleep.’ But it doesn’t matter to me.” I told him. His grip on my hand tightens and he glares in the direction of the boy. “Hey Ryan?”

“Yeah?” He turns his attention back to me.

“What’s his name?” I figure Ryan would know his name because Ryan knows everybody.

“Jake.” He says through clenched teeth. Okay, Jake is someone who should not be talked about.  He went on staring at Jake.

“Dude, I know I’m attractive, but you can stop staring because I don’t go that way.” Jake comments after Bumble Butt goes back into his office. Anger flares in Ryan’s eyes and I knew he was going to hurt Jake.

“Ryan, look at me.” I tell him. He takes his hand out of mine and stands up. Oh shit! What do I do? I look around frantically until I get an idea. I stand up and turn towards Ryan. I grab his head and turn him so he’s facing me, and then I press my mouth to his. The kiss soon goes from desperate to passionate and Ryan traces my lips with his tongue. I open my mouth and let him take dominance in the kiss. When we pull apart for air, Ryan smiles a grateful smile at me.

“Thanks babe.” He says. He takes my hand in his and pulls me out of the office. We don’t look back to see if Jake is still there. I know exactly where Ryan is taking me and a small smile finds its way onto my face.

Jake’s P.O.V.

 I stand up; ready to fight Ryan, when out of nowhere Beth grabs his face and kisses him. I can see him relax and the kiss gets deep. About five minutes later they break apart and he smiles at her.

“Thanks babe.” He says. He grabs her hand they start walking out of the office. What the hell was that all about? For some reason I just want her to act like that towards me. I’ve been here a day and a girl is already starting to change who I am.

“Oh my God! You like Elizabeth!” I hear a girl screech across the room. I turn and see the chick I kissed earlier this morning.

“If I liked her, I would already have her.” I state simply.

“It’s okay! I won’t tell anyone you like her. It’s just that she’s new and you’re new so it’s kind of awkward.” I didn’t know she was new.

“When did she start coming here?” I ask the girl.

“Well her first day was six days ago. She skipped with Ryan after she got sent to the office for almost breaking this guy’s hand. They got into like a major car accident and Beth was unconscious for four days and she had to stay in the hospital for two days after that. And the best part of it all is that when they got in the car accident, a piece of glass went through Beth’s heart and Ryan gave blood that she desperately needed. They’re the couple of the school! It’s so romantic!” She squeals and runs out of the office.

Well this is going to be tougher than I thought. She has his blood running through her veins? I sigh to myself, and then walk out of the school. I’ve been here long enough for one day.
