~~~Shanes P.O.V~~~I walk into school the next day trying to make my self scarce, hoping none of Jacins Jock buddy's notice me.
I stay to the wall making my way to my first period. A few feet away from my Maths room door, Jacin and I have a split second eye contact before I squeaked and ran into the room and made my seat by the window as usual.Sighing in relief I placed my head on my arms, hoping for some sleep since I am passing in this class and can miss one day.
"Mr. Mikel, I suggest you to start paying attention to my lessons if you plan on graduating this year." The teacher had said suddenly shocking me awake. I blushed noticing everyone was gone for second period.
"I a-am so s-sorry!"
"It's alright Shane. I worry about you." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Go to class."
((Change from first person to third person starts here))
Shane looked down in shame and walked out the room after apologizing once more.
Not looking where he was going he ran straight into a wall. Errr...not a wall.. Shane almost yelled out when he realized the wall he ran into was none other than Jacins football buddy, Mark, who loved torturing Shane just as much as Jacins did.
"Hmm, well lookie here, just the perfect timing and all. I was heading to the bathroom and Jacin just happens to be in class.." Mark grinned maliciously.
Shane's seafoam green doe-like eyes widened in fear as he saw the evil grin on Marks face. "I-i-i A-m so s-sorry!!"
As Mark looked around to see if no one was there to witness, Shane had a sudden feeling and thought. Something a friend who also got bullied by Jacins crew told him.
"Remember man, it's always a fight or flight situation when it comes to school. Always look for a way out or a way to fight back. Never go for the latter unless it's dyer to do so." Shane looked at the boy in wonder. He wished he could be that brave but just couldn't do it. He knew he would get caught or over beat...
Today he was in a fight or flight situation. Usually, for some odd reason, Jacins always kept his crew from going too far when it came to the beatings, but every once and a while, Shane ends up being caught by one of the jockies without Jacin there.
Shane sees an opening from the corner he had gotten backed into when he saw that the fire alarm wasn't too far away.
This way was both a fight and flight path. If only I can just get to it in time!
Shane ran fast and hard, back tilted and head down as he burst past Mark and towards the end of the hall where it was. Breathing heavily as he ran as fast and hard as he could, dropping his books in the process, he raced for the end of the hall. He could feel Marks arms a hairlength away from catching him as he sprinted behind him.
"You stupid fucking runt! How dare you run from me!!" He was pissed. That much was obvious. Shane knew if he didn't make it, he might just end up a dead man before the end of the day.
Just before the last few feet he tripped but his fingers managed to clip the fire alarms switch. Yes!!! Shane mentally screamed in relief as the fire alarms went off.
Mark had just grabbed Shane by the leg when he realized with anger what Shane did, students started piling out of the classrooms with confused and worried teachers in front, trying to figure out if this was a drill or not.
He's gone. Shane sighed a heavy breathe of relief after looking around. Mark had left the scene of the almost murder.
He hurriedly picked himself, along with his belongings up from the ground and pushed himself into the huge line of confused and slightly scared students trying to get out the school.
About twenty minutes later the administration gave the all clear for teachers to take their students back to class.
Shane could feel eyes boring into the back of his skull but refused to look around. He could tell who it was. Jacin.
Still breathing awkwardly from the whole experience Shane was shaking in his seat. Now fully regretting what he did. Now..now he will come back and with more reason to! I should have just let him beat me and be done with it..
"Hey man, you okay?" A student Shane only barely recognized as one from the class he was supposed to be in now asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Shane jumped in fear before fully hearing what the boy was saying. "Woah man, it's okay, it was just a fake one. No real fires here." Shane just silently nodded and turned away.
"I-im f-f-fine." He responded finally, turning away and starting to head back to class, like most students were doing.
Once in the classroom he did quiet breathing exercises as to keep himself calm so no one else asks. He sat in his usual seat by the window in the back, looking over the rain clouds that was hovering threateningly over the school, thunder rumbled in the distance as if to warm people of the impending doom.
Shane shook his head. Gotta get out of my fantasy books. It's just a thunderstorm. Nothing to it.
After class, which he only just realized was his English class, he kept his head up enough to see through his hair and stayed close to the wall for fear of numbing into anyone else. Especially mark. Shane would rather bump into Jacin than mark right now, but he is shooting for none of the above.
"Hey! Who do you think you are?!" Shane heard a shrill yell coming from the direction he was going in. Just perfect. Right in front of my next class.
Jacin was standing there in all his glory leaning against the door of Shane's next classroom. He had a gorgeous smirk on his face. His emerald eyes flashing in amusement at the fight in front of him.
"What do you mean yours?! I didn't know you put your STDs on him." A red headed girl snapped back at a blond bimbo type.
Shane scoffed and ignored the fight, praying for a teacher to show up and shoo them all away.
After about a minute, Shane felt eyes on him. He was looking down at the ground waiting for this day to be over and felt it. He looked up slowly to meet a pair of brilliant emerald eyes, black silky hair almost in the way of his eyes. Why did he have to look at me?!
Shane immediately started towards the bathroom. Nope. Not today. Not after what happened earlier. Na uh, no thanks. Thankfully he didn't hear, or sense anyone follow him so he was safe. Well as safe as you could be in the boys bathroom stalls. He grimaced.
Well, just a few more hours till this hell called school ended. And just a few more years until he can leave this hellhole he lives in for good.
