That was close

-­Lunch time­-

Today has been an OK day, I mean the first part of the day was spent with Strub and then I made a few friends. I meet Autumn, Brookie, Gabby, Bri, Daniele, and Ryan, Laura, and Beth . They all seem like really cool people. Brookie and Autumn are really chill and from what Ipicked up, they aren't a fan of people or at least Brookie isn't and Autumn is sporty but not a prep. Those are the only two that I have talked to a lot. I have talked to the other but just not as much. Anyway after getting to lunch I sit at the table with Brookie and Autumn because there is an empty seat. This is where I meet Isaiah, Nate, Tony, and Aubrey. I just sit there listening to them talk most of the time while I eat my food. Once I am done I dump my tray and the wait to be dismissed.

As I think to myself I remember that next I have health and wellness and I get to walk with Mr. Mitchell because I don't know anyone very well. It's kinda almost romantic when you think about it, me and him walking the town together, but then you add the fact that we are in class and that ruins everything. I am interrupted by someone telling us that we can leave and with my phone in my hand and my headphones in my pocket, I walk to the gym. I am soon joined by other people and Mr. Mitchell . Once everyone is in the gym we go outside and walk. I hold the door for everyone and wait for Mr. Mitchell .

"So where we walking today?" I ask.

"Well it's a small town so we just walk around and there is someone at the head of the pack and they lead us around and today I figured we could walk in the back so I could keep an eye on everyone. Oh and no phones unless you talk to me and you need to but you can listen to music," He says.

"OK I can do that," I say as we start walking. "So other than teaching what do you do?" I ask.

"Well I am the football coach and I like to hunt and fish and drive around town to think. How about you, well other then being at school," he says.

"Well, I like to drive or walk around, but since I don't know the area I don't do that much, and at my old school I was a manager for many sports and was in crew and want to get involved in that again," I say.

"I can help with that. You can be the football manager and I can totally get you hooked up with crew. There is a meeting in the auditorium after school to see who wants to be in crew," He says.

"That would be great. Thank you so much, and I will think about being the manager," I say.

"No problem. Anything to help," He says.

"Well in that case, do you wanna help me with my homework too?" I ask jokingly.

"I'll make you a deal. You say yes to being a manager for the football team and I will help you with homework, and since crew might get in the way of football, I will let you do both and go to play every other day so you can get the best of both worlds," He says.

"Deal," I say and shake his hand. His hands are so soft. I look up at him and he is already staring at me. I look into his eyes and he looks into mine and for a second we just get lost and forget where we are and what's happening. He starts to get closer to me and leans in a bit and I start to do the same but something tells me to stop and I pull away and smile as does Kayden.

"Well, that was close," I say.

"Yeah, you know this can't happen right?" He asks.

"Yeah, do you?" I ask.

"Unfortunately yes," He says. "Well, Calista I think that we should keep walking and get to know each other, because you know we are going to be spending a lot of time together,"

"Yeah thats true," I say and we continue walking and talking about everything.
