Chapter 6-The Truth Hurts

My eyes open slowly, I'm shocked not to be in my bed. I look around me there's blood and a lot of it, some is dried the rest still wet. Large gashes go all the way up both my arms. I look at my hand, a very bloody blade lies in my palm.  I slowly stand up and walk to the shower, the hot water stings as it runs over every fresh cut on my arms. I get out dry myself off, get dressed in jeans and a long sleeve top. I straighten my hair and do my make up. I clean up the bathroom and bath. I check my phone, 24 new messages and 36 missed calls. They are all from Alice, Jake, Chloe and Ethan. I go make Katy's lunch and then start to walk her to school. Jake, Alice, Chloe ad Ethan drive past in Jake's truck.  They pull over and all come running towards me. 

"ALEXIA!" They all yell at different times. 

I turn around and they all hug me tightly. 

"Are you okay?" Jake asked. 

"I'm fine." I replied. 

"Your wearing a long sleeved top?" Alice asked. 

"Yeah um I'm cold." I said uncertainly.  

"Your bleeding." Jake said pointing at my hand. 

Shit a cut had continued to bleed and it's dripping onto my hand. Jake stares into my eyes,i shiver. He puts his arm around me and walks me away from the group. He slowly reaches for the ends of my sleeves, I quickly move my arms away from him. 

"It's obvious what you've done, please show me." He said. 

"No." I replied tightly grasping the ends of my sleeves,my breath deepens and my heartbeat increases. 

He rolled the ends of his sleeves up revealing deep cuts and and dark scars. 

"Let's do this together, I showed you now you show me. I only want to see for your safety to make sure they will heal an not get infected." He sweetly said. 

"Okay." I said and a lonely tear rolled down my cheek. 

I slowly rolled up my sleeves up revealing bright red gashes, some still bleeding. 

"Shit." He said, his face went pale. 

"I'm so sorry." I said starting to cry. 

He hugs me tightly.

"I have to take you to the hospital." He muttered. 

"No,I'll be fine." I said although I questioned if I will. 

"No you won't, I'm taking you to the hospital. Come now." He said dragging me to the car. 

"Where are you guys going?" Alice asked. 

"Don't worry, you guys walk Katy to school and we'll meet you there in a couple of hours." He replied. 

We got into the car and drove to the hospital in near silence. 

"What if they send me to a psychiatric hospital?" I ask. 

"They won't. But if they do its good, it means they can stop you before it gets too bad."

We sat in silence for the ride there, I didn't want to ask about his scars and he didn't want to ask me. 

We arrive at the hospital and go into the reception. There is a large sign labelled 'Emergency'. The sight of it makes me feel sick. We head towards it,then I stopped. Frozen I one spot, I felt lifeless. 

"What's wrong?" Jake asks. 

"I can't do it. I just can't." I reply with my head hung low. 

Jake takes my hand and kisses my cheek.
