I ran as fast as I could.I didnt turn back.I couldnt turn back.I could feel the cold gravel crunch under the pitter-patter of my running feet. The moon hung up in the sky like a half-eaten oreo. All I could think of was getting back to the familiar walls I called home.My heart had left my chest and chose to reside in my mouth.I just had to keep running.

The neighbourhood mutt jumped against the fence in a show of intimidation but I wasnt phased.No....not tonight.Tonight was different.Tonight carried its own weapons of bravado but that didnt keep me from my current focus. If I could for a minute moment stop the second hand of time I could because I felt I wouldnt arrive on time."Sweet Heaven im back again" I mumbled half-breathless and half-shaken.

Sixty more running steps and Id be there.Push....Inhale.....Exhale.....
I urged my body to go on high on the adrenalin and gush of momentary serotonin.....5.....4.....3....2....1..... I semi-burst through the door. The TV blazing with white showers and I could all but clearly see the breaking news headline banner just in time: The Habit strikes again...
