The soft hum of the study lamp filled the quiet room, casting a golden glow over Yn's notebook and textbook. She flipped the pages slowly, pen tapping her lip as she concentrated, absorbing every detail about organic chemistry equations she hadn't paid attention to in class.
Taehyung sat beside her, arms crossed loosely on his chest, head tilted slightly against one hand. He silently watched her.
How focused she looked with furrowed brows.
So unlike herself, that it almost amused him how much effort this was costing someone who used to give up after five minutes of study.
Minutes turned into hours without either speaking. The clock crept past 10 PM... then 11...
By midnight,
Yn finally closed her book with a satisfied sigh. "Done," she whispered softly to herself as relief washed over her tired face. It might be the first time she had studied this much genuinely.
She stretched her arms above her head, letting out a quiet yawn that made her shoulders rise and fall. The fatigue of the long day finally caught up to her.
Yn turned slightly in her chair to look at Taehyung... only to freeze when she saw him.
He wasn't just sitting quietly anymore.
His head had dipped forward gently, his face now resting on his folded arms right next to her on the desk. His breathing was slow and even... deep asleep.
The sight melted something inside Yn completely.
She reached out, slower this time. Her fingers brushed against his cheek, barely a touch. His skin was warm. He didn't flinch. Instead, his breathing deepened slightly.
"Taehyung..." She whispered gently. Even though she didn't want to disturb his peaceful sleep, she couldn't let him have an uncomfortable sleep in this position. "Get up, let's go to bed."
Taehyung stirred slowly at her gentle shake. He raised his head from the desk, sitting straight. He couldn't remember when he dozed off.
"You're done?" He asked, checking the clock. It's midnight. "Mhm," Yn nodded, keeping her books aside "You fell asleep"
"I told you not to stay up with me..." Yn scolded but her voice did not carry any real malice. He rubbed his eyes and gave her a sleepy, lopsided smile. "I didn't expected you'd last more than an hour" he stated being honest. "But... I must say, I'm impressed"
Yn smiled proudly tucking a hair strand behind her ear. "Thanks thanks." She said before adding, "So where's my reward?"
"Reward?" Taehyung repeated, raising a brow.
"Yes!. I studied for more than three hours.. I deserve something in return!" She demanded for which Taehyung just shook his head getting up. "Don't be a kid. Get up it's middle of the night. We need to sleep now". He said taking her hand gently to pull her with him.
