Day 2: Normani's Note

Finally arriving in Atlanta a little past seven pm, Normani threw the car into park in the nearest Denny's parking lot.

"I'm nervous to read this." Normani admitted and turned to face the girls in the back seat. Ally did the same. Normani held the unfolded map and glanced at the bright, highlighter writing that made up each girls note.

"It's just Mila. Don't worry about it." Dinah replied.

With a sigh, Normani started reading the note.

Normani!!

I think you're from another world because you're honestly perfect. It's not even fair that you're this perfect. Here's a friendly reminder to you that you're beautiful and ooze so much confidence that it rubs off on me. So thank you. Before you ask, I'm doing fine. You don't have to worry about me.

I want to take this back to X Factor days. The very first time you attempted to do a British accent. This is where we learned accents are not your strong suit. It's ok, I still love you and you're still flawless.

So, there we were, fetus us. Hanging out backstage waiting to get to hair and make up for the elimination show that night. I remember we sat there on this really old and worn in couch and just talked the afternoon away. We talked about ex boyfriends, or I guess you talked about ex boyfriends, I had a whopping total of zero so.. But, we talked and while the other girls did whatever it was they were doing, you stuck around with me to do nothing. It was the semi-finals and backstage was fairly empty compared to what it had used to be on week one.

At some point, we started talking about One Direction and I almost cried because I'm such a true fan obviously. You laughed at me and I faked a British accent. This is where you explained that you'd do a British accent too but you couldn't do one. I told you to try and you did. I ended up laughing so hard the water I was drinking at the moment literally shot out of my mouth and across the room.

Workers thought we were insane but what else was really new? I talked in a few random accents and you tried to mimic them but failed. Eventually you gave up. But here's the thing, you always underestimate yourself.

Later on the two of us sat in hair and make up and laughed about your failed accents then something magical happened. One of the make up artists had an accent that was a bit southern a bit like how people sound in Atlanta Georgia. Maybe because she was from there. And out of straight curiosity, you attempted her accent and to both of our surprise, did it rather well. You weren't bad at all accents, just a handful.

Why am I sending you to Atlanta? Not just because you're from Atlanta but because your bomb ATL accent can shine there. And Justin Bieber used to live there and I know how much you stan for him. Normani, your confidence has shot through the roof over the years and where I'm sending you is for you shine. Go to Turner Field, the baseball stadium where the Braves play. I have a surprise for you; you and only you is singing 'God Bless America' at the Braves game. It's during the seventh inning so hopefully you're in Atlanta already. Here's the catch, I didn't set it up for you. You have to figure out how to do this and I will know if you do it or not. Things like a member of Fifth Harmony singing randomly at a baseball game by herself will make headlines and I will hear about it. You have a slightly harder task than the other girls but that's just because, one; I know you can do a lot more than you think, stop underestimating yourself, and two; this is like a check point, so I can know if you guys got this far.

You have so much confidence and such a beautiful mind, I know you can figure out how to do this. Have the girls help you, they'd do anything for you. I love and miss you Normani. Have fun and let your talent shine.

With love, Camila

Normani looked up at the girls who all had their mouths wide open.

"Is she kidding?" Ally questioned, already knowing the answer was no. "How are we gonna do this? We don't even have tickets to the game and-"

"Done." Lauren cheerfully said. Ally's head shifted to her. "I bought the tickets online just now, we can pick them up at will call and make it in time for the 7th inning."

"What about the song?" Normani asked. "That's the whole point of us going right?"

"Got it." Dinah exclaimed from the back seat. She held her phone up in the middle of the circle of girls so everyone could see. "No one's singing it tonight so if we fill this out and submit it, you're on."

"Media is gonna have a blast with this." Normani bitterly laughed.

"That's what Camila wants. She wants media to see this so she can see it too." Lauren added.

Normani leaned back in her seat, "It had to be my note that was a check point."

"You're the one with the crazy confidence and Justin Bieber adoration." Lauren laughed.

Lauren was right, Normani had been the one who grew into herself so much after X Factor. She was shy, and quiet but after X Factor showed her what she was really capable of, she was unstoppable. And here she was now, pegged as the 'confident one' by the girls. They all oozed confidence but Normani more than others. She was the one constantly asking Dinah to come take pictures of her because she 'looked good'. Most people think it's being coincided but there's a fine line between confidence and cockiness. Normani didn't blur them. She knew which was which and she knew she was just confident.

"Ok so let's go! We're on a time crunch now!" Dinah exclaimed.

The girls buckled their seat belts, Ally pulled up directions to the field on her phone and they were off. It was a little after seven, the seventh inning stretch was coming up and they weren't even somewhat close to the field.

As Normani drove she thought back to X Factor. She was so young and so unsure if this was really going to work out. Even at the end of the show she was concerned about if the girls were going to stick together. Looking back, she wished she could tell her younger self to stop worrying because these girls were so dedicated to making Fifth Harmony a worldwide thing. Here they were just three years later and they were taking on the world. They had platinum singles, they had sold out shows, they had a VMA, they were doing just what they dreamed they would.

Her audition for X Factor played back in her head. "I can show you better than I can tell you." is the phrase that sent everyone wild. A girl stepped up to the audition rounds and told the judges she could show them better than tell them. Even before she felt truly confident she still had confidence and that audition showed it. It was something about being on stage that shot her confidence through the roof. She was just comfortable there. On a baseball field, who knows. She'd find out soon though.

A/N:
The last part was really uneventful so here's this part with Normani's note. I love writing the notes tbh. Trying to figure out how Camila would word things makes it even more fun for me! I hope you liked this part!
