Sometimes we feel inspire to do anything. We can write a whole book if we want to. But other times inspiration is hard to find. Here's some tips based on personal experience in how to get inspired to write a story. Let's start by defining inspiration. Inspiration is an energy that comes to you and help you to acquire an idea in your mind. The idea motivates you to create or modify something. So let's break this down; the inspiration comes to you but how? The inspiration comes to you through your senses. What you see, what you smell, even in the things you eat. In other words inspirations comes to you by the things the you experience in life.
There's a lot of ways to find inspiration some of them are easy ways and some others more complex. Let's start with the easy ways to find inspiration. Media content is accessible; music, books, movies, stories, etc. Media content is not hard to use because now days all you do is reach your cellphone or computer and there you go. The quick access to media content is also a problem. The reason is because media content is reachable by millions of people around the world. It makes it kind of difficult to get inspire to do something a bit more original by using media content. In my opinion personal experiences is one the best ways to get inspire to write a story. Because you (the writer) already live trough it so it's usually easier for you to write it down on papers (or your laptop whichever your prefer). Besides not everybody lives through the exactly same experiences you own. But chances are that your experiences may possess similarities to others people experience. Your experiences can make you story original and yet reliable and compatible. I'm not saying to write down an auto-biography. Just mix reality with fiction to create a perfect match.
The most common way to write specially in contemporary fiction, realism and romance is by writing other people stories. Not everybody is a writer but we all conserve stories. Sometimes we as writers, we think someone's history and thought; "This story can help somebody." So, is our job as writers to write it down and save the day! The more people you know in life the more stories and characters you may obtain to write. So go out and meet people (nice people of course). The same "mix reality with fiction" rule applies with someone else story. Because you may don't want to give a lot of credits for you own job to other people. Places, now this is my favorite one. Travel to places and contemplate different environments and atmospheres may give you inspiration to write a story. I love traveling and going to different places to explore around but people got the perception of going somewhere different only during vacations. You can go different places and nor been on vacation (at least officially). You'll be surprised at the number people who doesn't visit local places. Places usually tourists pay top dollar to visit. Like for example the amount of people who lives in Philadelphia and have never seen the Liberty Bell in person or people who lives in New York that have never went to a Broadway show. So do some research see what type of different places you haven't been in your city or area. On your day off instead of watch movies or read, go on somewhere different, to enjoy and get inspired.
Have you ever heard peoples saying; "I just want to get lost and forget about everything." Well, sometimes we have to do it to get inspire. We cannot let our obligations and family behind. But we can get disconnected partially. Fly through the notes of your favorite song. Meet new people. Listen to others stories. Listen to your own story. Go to places by yourself or with your family and friends. Get a little crazy and wild sometimes. You will find out the getting inspire may not be so difficult as it looks like. After all getting inspired is about all about living.
