Next Morning
At 11am In Bedroom
The high-fidelity acoustic speakers mounted into the corners of the ceiling woke with a low, thumping bass vibration. The iconic, sweeping acoustic guitar strings of "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga" flooded the room. The melody was thick, sweet, and warm, cutting through the deep, heavy silence of the morning. Manik's eyes opened. The absolute clarity of his consciousness was sharp, entirely unaffected by the typical grogginess of a late-night awakening. His left arm was still securely tucked under Prerna's neck, acting as a soft, warm pillow, while his right hand rested flat against her waist. His fingers were splayed wide over the soft fabric of her nightshirt, pinning her small frame securely against his side as if he were holding onto his most precious possession. He didn't move. He didn't even blink. He simply turned his head slightly on the silk pillow, his dark eyes locking onto her sleeping face, lit by the soft, diffused morning light filtering through the sheer curtains of the Captain's room.

She looked entirely peaceful. The heavy, dark circles of stress and fear that had marred her features the previous afternoon had completely dissolved. In their place was a soft, rosy flush across her cheekbones. Her lips were slightly parted, and her long, dark eyelashes cast delicate, feathered shadows against her skin. Manik leaned down, his lips brushing the crown of her head with an achingly slow, deliberate tenderness. He inhaled deeply, filling his senses with the clean, comforting scent of her lavender shampoo.

"Wake up, bacha,"he murmured. His voice was a deep, gravelly morning rasp that vibrated directly against her collarbone. Prerna let out a soft, tiny groan. Her fingers tightened instinctively on the fabric of his dark gray t-shirt as she tried to bury her face deeper into the warm notch of his shoulder, trying to block out the rising music.
"Mani... five more minutes,"she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep."The speakers are too loud today. Please tell Bigg Boss to turn them down."
