She thinks I don't understand him.

That's the problem.

I understand Marco better than she realizes.

"If he finds out I'm pregnant..." she said.

Her voice didn't just shake.

It *dropped*.

Like she already knew exactly how that would end.

I didn't answer right away.

I just watched her.

Really watched her this time.

The way her hands wouldn't stay still. The way her breathing kept breaking no matter how hard she tried to control it.

That wasn't just fear of a man.

That was fear of *experience*.

"Then we use that," I said finally.

Her head snapped up so fast it almost made the monitor spike.

"What?"

"You said it yourself," I continued, steady. "That's the one thing that guarantees his reaction."

"No." She shook her head immediately, sharper now. "No, you're not turning that into part of your plan."

Too late.

"It already is."

Silence hit.

Heavy.

Pressing.

But this time, she didn't back down.

"You're insane," she said, her voice rising. "You don't even know what you're dealing with."

That almost made me laugh.

Almost.

"I know exactly what I'm dealing with," I said.

"No, you don't," she shot back, sitting up despite the pain. "You think this is strategy? You think this is control? You're playing with something you don't understand."

My eyes narrowed slightly.

Because now—

she was wrong.

"Then explain it," I said.

That stopped her.

Just for a second.

"Explain why he would burn everything down over you," I added. "Because from where I'm standing, that doesn't make sense."

Her jaw tightened.

Her eyes flickered.

There.

Hesitation.

"He just would," she said quickly.

Too quickly.

"That's not an answer."

"You don't need one," she snapped.

"I do," I said, my voice dropping slightly. "Because right now, you're either more important to him than you're admitting—"

I stepped closer.

"—or you're lying."

Her expression hardened instantly.

"I'm not lying."

"Then why are you scared of him like that?"

Silence.

Real silence this time.

I watched her carefully.

Waiting.

M

"People aren't afraid like that for no reason," I added. "Not unless there's something deeper."

Her hands tightened into the blanket.

Her breathing picked up again.

But this time—

not just fear.

Anger.

"You want to know what's deeper?" she said, her voice shaking but louder now. "Why don't you tell me first?"

I didn't move.

"What did Marco do to you?" she demanded.

That hit.

Not visibly.

But it hit.

The room shifted.

"You've been talking like this is personal," she continued. "Like this isn't just some operation. Like you've been waiting for this."

Her eyes locked onto mine.

"So what did he take from you?"

I didn't answer.

"Because this?" she gestured weakly around her. "This isn't normal. You don't risk people like this unless you're trying to prove something."

My jaw tightened.

Just slightly.

"Answer me," she pushed.

I took a slow breath.

Controlled.

Measured.

"You don't need to know that," I said.

"Of course I do," she snapped. "You're using me."

"I'm not using you," I said.

Her laugh came out sharp.

"Yes, you are."

Silence.

"Then let's be honest," she said, her voice dropping but not softening. "If I'm just part of your plan... what happens to me when it's over?"

That question lingered longer than it should have.

"You'll be alive," I said.

"That's not an answer."

"Then go be free, Just without a husband, cause he'll be dead once this is over."

She stared at surprise at that answer. Almost like she a happy surprised. Good.

"What are you planing to do with him" she said suddenly.

That caught me off guard.

Not enough to show it.

But enough.

"Don't worry about it." I say and then leave.

I didn't have all day.

The second I leave I order two of my security to watch the door.

"She cant step even one foot out of this room" I grab one of them by their collar warning "If I find out she steps one foot out of this room I'll kill you both understood?"

They nod. While I take out my gun and warn.

"If she needs food the nurse will bring it in. Only people allowed in there is me and the nurse no one else. If any of those rules are broken, you know what's gonna happen"

I'm done giving lectures. And try to leave as fast as possible, After all I had things to do and a mother fucker to hunt.
