A/N: Heyo! Sorry this genuinely took a year. Well, It actually took me four days but like... y'know. Anyways, curse of Ao3 got my ass. I'm very happy with this chapter and happy to finally end this story! Unfortunately, all the other chapters are written like unwiped ass. If you stuck around, please enjoy this treat and maybe leave a comment because I always love hearing feedback!

Lizzy's POV:

Everything felt like it was going great, better than possible. Months had passed since I was hospitalized, and I'd gotten so much better in the time since then. Things were scary for a while, sure, but it all worked out. For the most part, I wasn't very useful in saving the world. I was pretty okay with that though- watching V be a hero was stunning. Cyn was taken down and things seemed to go back to normal, then there was a new normal.

That was an interesting day. Uzi brought her boyfriend to class and, I mean, they couldn't really kick him out. Guy had just helped save the world and all. So when N was allowed to join the colony, I made absolutely sure V was accepted too.

I felt my face start to hurt with my smiling as I recalled the past. Dragging V around campus was great, and we were out for the summer finally! Plenty of dates in toxic death storms ahead. I totally needed to buy more ribbons and glitter to make a summer themed photo garland with photos of the dates V and I had been on so far.

The one we were on right now was my favorite so far.

V had found an old aquarium where the fish had somehow stayed alive through the planet exploding and had even adapted in the years since. So many swirling fins and flashing scales danced before us, it felt like an old memory.

Maybe the feeling of it being an old memory wasn't so far off. Mother used to make mechanical butterflies that would fly all over the house when I was little. I was never allowed to touch them, but I remember them being so magical when I was a child. Mother sold them as fashion pieces, rendering their beauty confined to a societal standard and lack of life.

Thinking of this quickly sours the mood, huh?

V must've taken notice of the change in energy as she's leaning against my back with more weight and tilting my head up by the chin.

"I think you're the prettiest catch here," she smirks with a smile in her eyes as I look up at her.

"You have a net to reel me in?" I play along.

"One made of glitter and ribbons, yeah," V teases.

I playfully shove her back with my body weight and watch her wobble for a second. She observes me for a moment, though her eyes drift back to the fish tank and she takes my hand in hers.

"You have a favorite?" She asks.

I squint, looking from one wall of the glass tank to another. Most of the fish look the same, but there's one or two that's really cool. Plenty of small fish dart around, in and out of the plant matter that's managed to grow despite very limited amounts of sunlight. Maybe it grew with the moon's light? There are a few floating creatures that seem absolutely brainless, made mainly with skin that looks like glowing mesh and jelly.

I watch the fish swim around and wonder what it's like for a moment. I wonder how different their thoughts are from my own and how incomprehensible the functioning of their minds and body are from my own. The fish all have their little groups, certain ones leading and certain ones seeming to stay in the middle of the school. A larger fish comes through and scatters the school, taking one small fish into its jaws.

It's not so different from what I'm used to, it seems.

My eyebrows crease, pink lines almost meeting in the middle of my LED forehead. I glance to the floor of the glass wall before us. Beautiful white sands with rocky jibblets dusted about. Among the debris, a small little creature.
