Suddenly, I couldn't breathe. It felt like I was going to faint any minute. His arms pulled me by my foot and into the ice cold water, and my lunges stopped working. I gasped for air, trying to get my body to work again. He seemed to notice my panic, pressed me tight against his chest and held me close. "You'll be alright. I'm here. You'll be fine. Just breathe. I won't let anything happen to you. I swear."
