Until I see you again....

I felt a finger on my stomach and opened my eyes. "What the heck are you doing?" I couldn't help but laugh because Cole had his finger on my stomach. "It looks like you're breaking." I burst out in laughter and turned around. I crossed my arms under my head and closed my eyes. "It's boring to be nice." "What? Why?" "It's boring to be nice." "Why?" "Because, if I wasn't nice, I would've broken up with my girlfriend to be with you." I looked at him, a little shocked, and shook my head for the thousandth time that day. "You shouldn't do that. It wouldn't be fair to anyone. We live on opposite sides of the country. If you're happy with her, you should stay with her. You have better chances there than with me." "I know." I put my head back on my hands and closed my eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" "Nothing. Just the stress with school, books, all that. I don't know anything about the school, and there'll be a lot of new people, and you know how I am with new people. It doesn't work out that well." He looked at me with a look full of sympathy. "I know, but you'll be fine. I know it." I just nodded and closed my eyes again. I could hear him taking out his phone, and then he put his head on my back and used it as a pillow. "Isn't that really uncomfortable? Using my back as a pillow, I mean?" "Neh. It's fine." "Ok. If you say so." I turned my head a little to look at him, and he looked at me too. I smiled a little and put my head back down. "You smell nice." "I do WHAT NOW? OK!" I burst out in laughter and shook my head. Where the hell did that come from? Man, this guy's so weird. Cole got off my back but put the top of his head against my stomach. My chin started to hurt from the hard floor, so I sat up and looked at him.

He looked back up at me and started tickling me. I fell back down, naturally, and we ended up face-to face. I looked into his eyes a bit, and he looked into mine. I swear it felt like he was going to kiss me right there and then. I took a deep breath and sat back up. He took my right hand to check the time, and when his hand fell, my hand stayed in his. I was not sure if I should let it stay there, but I kept my hand in his, and he started stroking his thumb over my hand. He then took my hand in both of his and kept stoking it. He lifted my hand to his face and kissed it lightly. "Mine. You're not allowed to leave." I laughed softly. "Well, I think you'll have to kidnap me then." We laughed A bit but then he turned serious again. He looked at my hand and pressed it against his face. "My hand. My Rose." "Well, then I'll have to cut my arm off, so you can have it then." After that we sat in silence for a while, until he got a text from his mom saying he had to get home. "I don't want to leave. I want to stay here with you," he sighed and looked down. I did the same and an overwhelming pain of sadness shot through me. "I know. I wish you could. But you have to get home soon too." He looked at me with a sad look on his face. After that, we just sat on my bed for a while, no one dared to speak. He got more texts from his mother, and at the end he decided it was time to go. I followed him down, of course, and we were talking all the way down.

When we got out, he turned to me with an odd look on his face. "Do you trust me?" I looked at him, not really sure what he meant, so I decided to joke about it. "Sometimes." I laughed softly, and he just smiled. "Come on. Answer the question. Do you trust me?" I didn't answer, so he sighed again. "Ok. Reach out your hand and close your eyes." I did as I was told, and I could feel his thumb pressing against the palm of my hand. Then everything went superfast. I didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. I couldn't hear him moving at all, and suddenly he was pressing against me and his lips locked with mine. The kiss was really soft, yet very passionate. It was just a normal kiss, no tongue or anything, yet my head started spinning, and I was barely able to breath. My legs turned to jelly, so I'm really glad he was holding me tight. I opened my eyes and I'm not even sure who pulled away. I heard the typical noise you hear when two people break a kiss, and Cole was hugging me tight. I looked to his shoulder, to shocked to look him in the eyes. "That was different..." I had no idea what I was saying. Everything felt so surreal, and my brain had turned to cotton candy. He laughed softly, and that was honestly the first time ever I've heard him laugh that softly, and hugged me tighter. "I told you I would kiss you the next time I saw you, didn't I?" I didn't dare to speak up. I was absolutely positive my voice would break if I did. I just nodded slightly and hugged him tight. I wish we could stay like this. I wish he could stay with me, and that I would be his....

After what seemed like forever, he let go of me, and I pulled back a little. He stroke my face and looked at me. "No matter what anyone says, you're always the one I think about the most. Remember that." I smiled at him, and nodded. "Sure. I'll remember." He got on his bike, and looked at me one more time before he left.

That was the last time I saw him, and it will be the last time I see him for years. But hey, it's good memory to keep with you, right?

So, there you have it. I told you the story would be short. Maybe I will write a sequel when I meet him again. Who knows. But for now, this is it. Hope you like it
