The streets were a ghost town, only a few lonely souls wandering outside at this late hour. One of the loners on the darkened pathway look our way, the look in their eyes somthing i had seen so many times. I glance back at Will, reaching out and pulling him closer to my side. "What was that for?" he demands, luckily not too loud. "Stay close." I mutter, practically clinging to the taller male. Will blinks a little confused, his eyes scanning the area for what had put me on edge. When his eyes met those of a nearby loner he realized why I had tensed, noticing the same flicker of bloodlust dancing in their eyes. I wasn't expecting him to pull me farther into him though, as if he was protecting me from them. The idea almost made me laugh, I couldn't die... I didn't need protecting. I quickly shifted my bag to acomodate his sudden closeness, continuing to walk down the lamp lit streets.

"So exactly where are we going...?" Will questions, looking down at me. He didn't even question the reason for our sudden departure or even why I was helping. If I told him then it would only make him distrust me more. I didn't need that if I was going to go through with my new agenda.

I was going to save him. To do this though I was turning my back on the organization that had helped raise me. I was betraying them, for a man I barely knew.

What the hell is wrong with me?! They'll surely hunt me down for this, but I felt I owed him his life since he had gone out of his way to save mine twice already.

"We're getting out of town... I've got to call someone first though." I say with a sigh.

----

After walking for almost an hour I stopped, holding Will back from walking further. He looked at me confused, probably wondering why I had done so. His silent question went unanswered though when I pulled a little cellphone out of my pocket and flipped it open.

Hopefully she answers.

It rang, each shrill sound making me more nervous than I had been in years. Finally though the person on the other end of the line picked up, answering with a almost quiet hello. "Hey Jay. I kind of need a favor." I ask with a chuckle. Jay was a close friend of mine, one who worked outside of the organizations grasp. She was silent, probably wondering what mess I had gotten myself into this time.

"I need a ride for me and a new friend... do you think you can pick us up?" I asked, for once sounding sheepish. I didn't want to impose on her, afterall I owed her alot for all the sticky situations she's helped me clean up. The line went dead silent, probably a sign she was thinking it over.

....

....

....

"Alright, just give me an address and I'll be there shortly." she replied.

I almost jumped in the air from shock, I had expected her to refuse. It didn't take me long to regain my composure though and I quickly looked around for a decent place to lay low until she arrived. Thats when I spotted it, a little diner across the street, one that was way too brightly lit to harbor any of the kind I worked with. That would be perfect for now.

"2665 Baker Road, in Oakley." I replied. "Be there soon." she added, hanging up seconds later.

"Come on, let's go get some EARLY breakfast." I chimed, beginning to drag the confused and silent man across the road to the diner. Will merely complies, following right behind me with a sigh.

It's only when we have been seated and the waitress, who seemed absolutely exauhsted due to her seemingly late schedule, had left that Will voiced his confusion. "So, exactly who... or what, are we running from exactly?" he asks, taking a sip of his coffee. I sighed, ignoring the 'complimentary' coffee the waitress had poured and looked at him. My eyes locked with his, trying to figure out what I should tell him. He didn't probe past my sudden silence though, instead waiting patiently for me to answer. "It's kind of both.. mostly a who though." I replied, still racking my head for a decent answer that wouldn't bring up my history in the process. Will merely cocked and eyebrow, motioning for me to continue. "I ran into him a while back at a bar, he's sort of an anti-hunter I guess you could say. He likes killing those who kill his kind..." I start, mostly lying through my teeth. I couldn't just tell him he was a coworker who would most likely attmept to kill me now that I was helping Will. "I've seen his handiwork before... and the black fur we found in your apartment is definately his. So now I'm trying to save you from the other's fate's. Is that good enough for you?" I finish, smirking at the end at the fear rising in his pretty little eyes.

He never got to answer though as the waitress came back with our food and I dug into a pile of pancakes with vigor. I was starving, most likely the product of the fear of what would happen if I was caught helping my target. Jay would be here soon enough and then we could get somewhere where no one could ever track me, my sanctuary... haven.. a place unknown to the organization.

I just hope that Will doesn't try killing Jay when he see's her....
