Things on earth were changing rapidly due to the rumored power being released from the monument. Palutena told Pit and Kari that it was called the "Balancing power of the gods" which kept the powers of all the gods and goddesses in check, as its name says. But paranormal anomalies were happening world wide such as spirits haunting houses even more than usual, tornados happening where they don't usually happen and cold temperatures appearing in the deserts while the poles started to get hotter than they should! This alerted the goddess of light so she decided to help by using her powers, even though it was limited due to the cause of such unbalance being the "Balancing power of the gods" itself.

"Wait, if it's the BALANCING power of the gods, then why is it causing so much UNbalance?" Kari asked, since she was in Palutena's temple for the moment while Pit was somewhere else on Skyworld. Kari watched Palutena work. The goddess blinked and replied to Kari without looking at her.

"Because it only balances the power of the gods and goddess. But the tremendous power that is concentrated in the golden sphere is too much for the humans and the earth to handle so it's unbalanced, which is why--"

"---it was sealed in that monument!" Kari gasped with wide eyes as she understood and Palutena nodded.

"Yes. Kari, I know you want to help but it's my turn to do more for the humans. You and Pit need to head out to find the lunar bow and the sun spear. I'll send you two out soon. The sun spear is showing itself now." Palutena informed and Kari nodded then rushed out the temple doors and towards where she and Pit usually meet before missions. Pit smiled at Kari and she smiled back at him. Palutena then gave Pit the gift of flight and guided him towards their destination, Kari on Pit's back and fighting off some underworld enemies like always.

"So, you ready?" Pit asked and Kari nodded with a confident smirk as they landed. This time they were at an old Chinese temple that was similar to the old Japanese temple where they saw the lunar bow for the first time. They walked in and began to search.

"Lets see, old paintings, pots, crumbled statues... And the walls are covered in ashes." Kari sighed as she looked around. Pit nodded as he picked up an old pot and then inspected it. A bright glowing soon caught both Pit's and Kari's attention. They saw a spear that was colored like a flame with gold instead of yellow. The spear head had a flaming red sun shape in the middle of pith sides while the opposite end had a flame like shape. Kari went wide eyes like before with the lunar bow and a silver see through barrier surrounded the sun spear. Pit kept his distance since he did not want a repeat of last time. The sun spear began to flail around and try to escape as the bubble shaped barrier came towards Kari.

"Its ok." Kari said in a soothing voice. "I won't hurt you. It's ok, calm down." Kari's eyes then narrowed as she spoke. At that moment the sun spear stopped and was soothed. Kari smiled sweetly and Pit stared in shock. Did Kari just calm the sun spear?! Kari then lowered the barrier and the sun spear inched closer to Kari then stayed by her side happily, following her every step. Pit blinked then gave a small smile. The two were now on their way to leave with the sun spear when a laugh filled the forest they were in. It was Thanatos once again.

"Thanatos, what are you doing here?!" Pit growled in annoyance.

"Easy there Pit, don't hurt yourself. I just came for-- oh, there it is. And hello again Kari, nice to see you." Thanatos greeted as he eyed the sun spear next to the girl. Kari narrowed her eyes angrily as she kept her guard up, getting ready for a fight. Thanatos then lunged at Kari, reaching for the sun spear as he got closer and closer to the girl. Kari growled and clawed at the god's face when he was close enough then kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying back slightly. Pit then shot a few arrows at Thanatos and growled.

"Kari get the sun spear and go! Hurry!" Pit ordered and Kari was about to refuse but then turned and ran, remembering something Palutena said about the sun spear and lunar bow.

----- flashback, about a week or so ago -----

Kari and Pit were called into Palutena's temple after training. The two entered the room and looked at the goddess in confusion.

"What's wrong Lady Palutena?" Pit asked and Kari blinked as Palutena walked towards them.

"I remember what the items are and what they do." Palutena informed and the two widened their eyes and stared at the goddess.

"You mean you DIDN'T know before hand?!" Kari gasped in shock and Palutena nodded slowly in defeat.

"Yes, they are the sun spear and lunar bow." Palutena said and looked at the two as they nodded, taking mental notes. "Whoever posses one or the other can control the respective properties of the sun or moon. That means who ever has one can control either the sun or moon itself. This means the position of either one, how it impacts earth, anything!" Palutena called and gulped.

"So that means--" Kari started and Pit finished.

"We can't let the underworld army get a hold of either one." Pit called out and Palutena nodded in agreement.

----- end flashback -----

Kari gulped and then grabbed the sun spear and ran away while Pit fought off Thanatos to give Kari time to flee. She hated having to flee but this was too important to take any risks with it. She skid to a stop in a small clearing and looked up towards Skyworld.

"LADY PALUTENA!!!! I NEED HELP!! PLEASE!!" Kari called. No one replied and Kari gulped then began to think. "Wh-What should I do?! I need to get up to Skyworld! But I-- I can't fly...! Wait!" Kari then remembered the day she fell off of Skyworld and tugged on her scarf with a gulp. "I CAN fly! I just need to focus." She said to herself confidently and sighed while closing her eyes to help her concentrate. Her scarf ends began to glow and sway upwards as if she was surrounded by a pillar of wind. Soon the scarf ends took the shape of falcon like wings, like before.

Kari slowly opened her eyes and looked at her scarf ends and smiled. "Alright," she called then grabbed the sun spear gently and flapped her wings rapidly, making a dust cloud as she took off with tremendous speed. "To Skyworld!" Kari giggled and zipped to the floating islands in the sky, speeding faster than a bullet. She soon landed in front of Palutena's temple and rushed in. The goddess looked at Kari in shock.

"K-Kari?! How did you get up here?!" She asked, knowing the answer. Palutena purposely ignored Kari's plea to be extracted to see what the child would do. The goddess knew Kari would do something like this and knew it would help her with her abilities.

"I flew! But that's not my concern now, even though I'm very confused. Palutena, we got the sun spear!" Kari stated with a wide smile.

"Good job. Put it in this box here." A box, similar in shape to the one that held the three sacred treasures but was slightly longer than the spear itself. It was flame colored and had the symbol of the sun like the sun spear had. Kari nodded and opened the box to see a hole that was shaped exactly like the spear. She put The sun spear in the hold then closed the box and sighed. Kari turned to leave, her scarf ends flapping rapidly but Palutena stopped her by placing a hand on Kari's shoulder.

"Palutena?" Kari asked while looking up at the goddess of light.

"Pit's fine. If he needs help I'll let you know." Palutena said and smiled at Kari reassuringly. Kari blinked then hesitantly nodded and stayed with Palutena.

Hours passed and Pit was brought back to Skyworld. Kari met him with Palutena outside by the temple doors. Kari smiled at him and waved happily then went to the angle to chat. Palutena watched as the two talked and hung out for a few moments before returning to help the humans. Soon dinner was made and then everyone went to sleep for the night.
