Chapter 16- Reunion

3rd Person POV

Someone new stood at the gate of Konoha, she was covered in bandages head to toe, the only think that was showing was patches of her short purple hair coming from the bandages and one emerald eye. She had a large sword strapped to her back, it had a jagged edge and almost looked like a tooth, it was. The sword was made from a beasts tooth. She had a young boy holding her hand, he had shaggy orange hair and bright violet eyes.They walk into the village hand in hand, the first time in 3 years, this is the village she spend those years protecting.

"Lets go" An ANBU nods to her and leads her to the Hokages office, familiar faces and voices run past her. They might have not known her but she knew them, she knew them all. Whenever she had a day off she would hide in tree's concealing her  Chakra and watch the world go past. She would check up on her friends, Hinata, Kiba, Akamaru, Shibi, and Shino... The man she loved. Even Akamaru didn't notice her but that was a good thing. Akamaru would tell Kiba and Kiba would tell the village. He had such a big mouth. She laughed to herself, that's why she liked him though. 

Before they walked into the office an ANBU carefully takes the beat up and scratched boy from her to take to medical. Even though Kyo was scared of people he had faith in Kira to protect him. He knew he wouldn't let him get hurt, the scratches on him was from wrestling a fox over a pig he caught. 

She walks into office where the Hokage smiles to her, she was proud. Kira has made a substantial growth in her abilities and she's used them to protect the village, now it was her time to be happy. Kira sweeps into a low bow not glancing up at the Hokage, that was disrespectful after all. 

"Kira,"She starts motioning for Kira to lift her head, she did as told "I have one last question to ask you" 

"Yes My lady" Kira slowly stands back up.

"Will you protect this village?" Kira was confused, she had been protecting this village hasn't she? She nods slowly eyebrow furrowed in confusion. "Very well you are now free to do what you wish with your life" The hokage grins "On the condition that you will answer whenever your called" She motions for Kira to leave. 

Kira stood there shocked, she was free? Happy tears roll down her face as she jumps onto the Hokage hugging her. Tsunade pats her back reassuringly then gingerly pushed out out the door. 

Kira wasted no time, she raced towards the Hyuuga household first not ready to face Shino quite yet.  She walked in to see her best friend Hinata hard at work practicing the Hyuuga way with her father silently watching over her. 

"Hinata" Her voice was a hoarse whisper, she was afraid of what her friend would think of her now. Would she hate her? Would she be disgusted by her new scars? After all that time as an assassin she got into quite a few scrapes, on of them she lost her eye on she only had her emerald one left. Hinata seemed to have heard her because her head whips to look at Kira her eyes wide and tears fogging them. She runs over to her and grips her tightly in a hug. Finally her friend was back.

Kira knew she wasn't ready to face Shino yet so Hinata gladly stayed by her side. They both went to see Kiba who at one sniff, yes sniff realized who she was and tackled her in a hug with Akamaru making it a dog pile. They sat on Kiba's porch as she tells them what she went through in the last 3 years,the first one was the hardest, she had little to none experience with assassination's so Tsunade drilled them into her head. She killed more people than she could count but to her it was for the right reason, Nero helped her the whole time talking her through it. They were a great team. 

In the middle of the second year she made a mistake, it was a small and stupid mistake but she made it. That got her locked up in a cell for a few months, but that was where she found Kyo. He was an orphan stealing food to get buy and he for some reason sat next to her window, it was a dainty little thing, covered in muck and closed off by large metal bars but he sat next to it sharking from the cold and starving. Kira slowly sulked over to the window, pushing up on her tip toes to push the bread they gave her to eat to him, they did this for days she fed him and gave him some of her clothes. She didn't care about herself at that moment, the only thing on her mind was helping him. 

When the opportunity rose she took it and escaped from the cell, she then picked up Kyo and fled from the village bleeding and broken. She was used to the pain by that time so she continued on. They traveled for a year she continued to assassinate anyone who seemed to be a threat to her village and he welcomed her home with a warm smile. Him and Nero where the two that helped her fight off the loneliness. 

"Well now I have to meet this kid!" Kiba grins with Akamaru barking in agreement, Hinata nods timidly at the thought of new people. "But first, you have to go see shino. You cant hide from him forever" 

Kira stared at her friends with a solemn expression, she knew she couldn't hide from him anymore but she got the feeling they knew something and was hiding it from her. Getting up slowly she bids her friends goodbye and head to Shino's home.
