Test Of Love

JJ's POV (point of view)
"Seriously Hotch! You think a woman can do this job! What a joke," Spencer Reid snorts.
It's the first day on my new job at the FBI's Behavioural Analyst Unit, or BAU for short. I'm so nervous but this comment only makes it worse.
"Reid watch it," Agent Hotchner, my new boss, says.
"Well, you seriously think that this tiny girl can take down a 6 foot tall man?! Come on, use your brain!" He glares at me.
I keep my head high and try to keep my face from showing any emotions. I don't want these people thinking I'm weaker then they already assume.
"Reid-" Hotchner starts but I cut him off.
"No, it's ok. It'll bite him in the ass one day," I scoff back.
"Yea the day that unicorns exist." He grunts.
"Reid go back to your desk and start your paperwork, now."
As Reid exits the room I look back and stare.
"Ehem," Hotch coughs.
"Oh um, sorry," I say as I start to feel my cheeks get red.
"Not a problem Ms. Jareau. But just to clarify, you will not have any sexual interactions with the other agents."
I'm taken aback by his comment and before I can respond he dismisses his comment and begins talking about my new job.
"Ok so you are our newest agent and you are still in training but you will also join us in the field as we are in need of agents out there. It will be scary the first couple of times, seeing the corpses and that but I am sure it will not be a problem, correct?"
"Not at all. Dead bodies are my strong suit!" I respond but start to become embarrassed by my response.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't mean it like that! I meant that they don't bother me!" I scramble for the words but he just nods his head and continues.
"Here is your badge, your gun and your office is right over here." We walk out of his office and walk down the hallway a little bit until we are at another door. He opens it and gestures for me to walk in.
It's a big space but very dark and empty.
"Feel free to redecorate or whatever."
"Oh and welcome to the team Agent Jareau!" He gives me a slight smile and closes the door on his way out.
I sit down in the spinning chair behind the desk that was already in the office, and let out a big sigh.
"First day and I'm already rethinking."
