Chapter 3

Jai Pov
I woke up to the sun reflecting on my computer screen. "Oh right Luke and James rearranged my room" I say outloud. I hear a faint ringtone and realize I probably slept with my phone in my hand. I immediately get up and throw the covers off the bed while searching for my phone. After a few more seconds I successfully find it and see that Melissa is calling.

"Morning to the most beautiful girl in the world" I say.

"Aww Jai stop being so sweet. It will make me miss you even more." She says.

"What do you mean? We live in the same city don't we" I say laughing.

"Oh right. Listen remember that offer I got from that agency that was going to help me with my modeling career?"

"Yeah what about it? Did they email you again?" I say curiously.

"Well after talking to them and my manager, I got the opportunity to go to London and start my career! Isn't that just great!" She yells excitedly.

"Well how about it. I'm so glad babe. I knew you could do it" I say smiling.

"Well the thing is in order to make it easier, that would mean that I would have to move to London for a year." She says waiting for my response.

"We can't talk about this on the phone. Come to my house this afternoon. Love you!" I quickly say.

"But Ja-"

I quickly hang up before I could hear what she had to say. The truth is I am not good with confrontation. That's why I asked her to come and talk about it so I could at least know what to say. I really want to be there for her but I would really miss her.

Jai Pov

I hear a notification and check my phone. It was a text from Melissa telling me that she was outside.
I get up and run downstairs to open the gate. Her car pulls up and I notice that her car is filled with boxes? I shake my head and proceed to close the gate. I make my way to the car and open the door for her.

"Jai I'm sorry.." She says with a sad face.

"It's okay. I don't mind. But please come in it's kind of chilly outside" I say laughing trying to break the tension. We make our way inside and into my room.
"So when are you moving?" I say looking down.

"I know you might hate me after saying this, but the agency would like it if I head out as soon as possible. And well I have finished everything in here..." She says holding my hands.

"So like in a week?" I ask.

"I have no other way to put this but, this is really important to me and you know I love you but my career is my biggest priority and I'm actually heading out tonight. I wanted to talk to you about us." She says.

"Melissa why didn't you tell me this sooner?" I run my fingers through my hair in a frustrating manner.

"I found out yesterday as a matter of fact. Now stop being so angry! I put up with so much from you !" She says with tears streaming down her face.

"I'm sorry. It's just too much to take in. I think it's best if we take a break and see where it goes from there on." I say.

"Alright then. But will you at least drop me off at the airport?" She pleads.

"I don't see why not." I say in a harsh tone.

"I'll call you when I'm ready. I have other things to do." She plants a kiss on my cheek and leaves.

"Why do I always end up being the one who gets left behind?" I toss a pillow against a wall and fall onto my knees. This isn't the first time I have gotten my heart broken. I guess it's my fault for caring too much.

Your Pov

I look outside my window taking in the beauty of nature.
"Excuse me Miss would you like a snack?"

I take out my headphones and look at the flight attendant.

"No thank you. I was just about to take a nap" I say giving her a smile.

I put my headphones back in and listen to my music. I hear the faint noise of a crying child and I laugh as I notice the man next to me is sleeping with his mouth open. In just a few hours the plane will be landing.
