~~ Katherina's POV ~~

When the soldier pulled the trigger, I did not know it would be electricity and not lead that shot out the end. Either way I jumped right in front of Leon, right in front of the shot. I heard Becker scream for the soldier to stand down but he had already pulled the trigger.

The electricity slammed into my chest, sending me off my feet and straight backwards into some chairs. Leon roared so loud he shook the walls, but surprisingly didn't chase after the soldier. Becker was doing that for him and I think he knew.

It took too long for the pain to register in my body, long enough for it to scare me. Sickness, dizziness and burning rushed through my body, eliciting a pained groan from my limp form.

Jesus I would have preferred lead.

Leon ran straight over to me and whimpered, his head nudging mine.

"I-I'm o-okay." I choked the words out as a shaky hand rose to his nose.

I could have sworn I saw his eyes close in relief as he purred.

A screech from Aqua made us both look to see the Spinosaurus advancing on Connor who now stood in the middle of it's path.

"Aqua." I whispered, causing her to take off and nip at the creatures heels, trying to divert it's attention. It didn't work.

"Connor!" Abby screamed from a sound booth as she slammed her hand on a button, making flashing lights and loud music fill the large room.

The creature freaked and roared.

Soldiers circled the Spinosaurus, Becker coming as subtly as he could towards me. Connor still stood in their way, tapping on the device and attempting to open an anomaly.

"Connor, get clear!" Becker shouted to him as he reached me.

He knelt down by me immediately, picking me up and pulling me into his lap. For some reason, Leon didn't even growl, he merely observed, making sure Becker wasn't going to hurt me.

"Kate, baby what were you doing?" He whispered against my forehead as he pressed a kiss there.

"I thought they were trying to kill my raptors. I didn't know it-" I broke off into a coughing fit, Becker immediately rocking me and making soothing noises. "I didn't know it was a giant taser."

"Oh Kate. You idiot."

I chuckled and coughed at the same time, training my eyes back on Connor in time to see the Irish guy, Matt I think is name was, pull Connor up on a wire like some kind of spy. They took off into the air, the Spinosaurus roaring and snapping up at them.

Connor still held the device and refused to grab Matt with both hands. Matt was screaming at him, but he still pointed the device at the dinosaur in the hopes an anomaly would open.

Becker shouted a loud 'clear' to his men, they immediately shot the Spinosaurus, causing it to slump to the ground.

However, then the rope holding Matt and Connor up began slipping to the ground. 

"What was that?" Connor screamed over the music.

"Their lines jammed." Becker whispered in horror.
