I get to the park and find Ashton sitting under the tree. A sort of square box next to him. What even? I think, before I remember. Of course, he can't carry his drum kit everywhere, that's the alternative.

He looks at me as I approach the tree - our tree - and smiles. I smile back waving slightly.

"Hi," I say, sitting down next to him.

"Hello," he smiles.

" So, what do you want to show me? " I ask, a bit excited.

He pulls his box into view, "Promises are promise, " he says.

I still feel bad that I forgot, " At least one of us can keep them," I joke, kicking at a stone with my shoe.

He looks at me intently, placing his hand on my knee, " Don't beat yourself up over it, Abi. It wasn't your fault. "

I just smile. He's so sweet.

" Anyway I'm speaking of a different proposal, I mean, promise, " he smirks.

I roll my eyes at him. It was just a joke, okay? I was tryna make you feel better.

"So I wrote a song and I'd like you to play it wi - " he pauses abruptly, " Where's your guitar? " he questions.

"Um, my guitar? " I'm so confused.

"Yeah, didn't I ask you to come with it?"

I shake my head, "Uh, nope. You did not."

" Really? " He asks, laughing.

I nod.

"Well this is awkward. Everything's been ruined!" he cries, throwing his hands in the air dramatically .

I giggle at his melodrama, " Oh, please! Don't you think you're over-exaggerating. Just a bit? "

I raise an eyebrow at him when he shakes his head.

"Okay maybe I am, " he chuckles, his dimples making an appearance. Two symmetrical dents in his cheeks, a perfect imperfection.

"Anyway, I could always go fetch it," I shrug, " It's no big deal. "

"Nah it's fine."

"Sure?"

"Sure."

"Can I see the lyrics?"

He looks down at the paper in his hands, " Um, come to think of it. I don't think I'm ready to show you this. Maybe leaving your guitar was a sign?"

"Oh Ashton come on," I laugh.
"Please, " I pout, when he shakes his head.

He lets out an exasperated sigh, " Fine!"

He hands me the paper. A shy blush creeping onto his cheeks, painting them a light pink. My heart flutters. He's so adorable.

"Last night I saw my dreams come to life./An angel's touch warmed the cold of the night./She whispered, 'Heaven's not such a sight'/'Of course,' I said. ' 'Cause you're by my side' ". I read the lyrics silently. Not bad.

"Lucky girl, "

"No, " he says, "I'm the lucky one."

"So, who is she?" I ask, out of curiosity.

He blushes scarlet and quickly looks away.

"Ashton! Come on tell me please."

"She's an angel."

I just give him a sarcastic look, my eyebrow raised.

"Okay fine it's, " he hesitates, " It's - "
